15/12/2011 11:20 | Indeed BlackberryDrop - Avanti must be really uncompetitive versus its peers (not!) to keep winning both government and private funded contracts in the UK, Europe and MEA. I never did believe the doomsayers earlier this year who tried very hard to rubbish the competitiveness of Avanti's offering. And with DW reporting earlier this year that pricing is ahead of expectations, the prospects are promising. | garymott
15/12/2011 10:52 | As you say Yorgi, they keep coming and that is what counts. Just seen this new contract win on their website today the third in three days so shows they keep on selling. It's also good to see they are winning Government business in Europe as well as the UK. I wonder what else there will be for Christmas? Avanti customer wins Spanish government funded rural broadband project 15 December, 2011 - 09:00 Avanti congratulates its Spanish customer, Operadora Tripla, which has been successful in winning a state funded rural broadband project in Chantada. Chantada, with 9,000 inhabitants, is a rural area in the south of Lugo province in the heart of Galicia region in the NW of the Iberian peninsula. Operadora Tripla will use Avanti's HYLAS 1 system to bring broadband to this region and we are delighted to see that our technology is competing successfully around Europe and delivering on Avanti's commitment to bridge the EU digital divide. | ![]() blackberrydrop
15/12/2011 10:21 | Patience yorgi, patience :-) | garymott
14/12/2011 16:25 | I know the market is not good for anything whose profits are in the future unless its a miner or an oiler but this is ridiculous, they keep signing contracts, alright last two not huge but still the share price fails to respond :-( | ![]() yorgi
14/12/2011 09:58 | mid-east and africa, that's where HYLAS-2 will make some real money. | ![]() backmarker

14/12/2011 08:05 | restassured I agree, but don't forget the "Avanti Inverse Rule", they win a decent contract and the share price drops. Hopefully when H2 explodes on take off, the share price will shoot up to £10 ! LOL. | ![]() 2vdm

13/12/2011 16:01 | TW's latest comment. Avanti Communications* (AVN) has announced its second contract win of the month, the firm signing a five year contract with AfriGlobal Communications for the supply of satellite bandwidth over Southern Africa on the HYLAS 2 satellite. The deal is valued at $4.65 million (£3 million) over five years. While the shares have gained 6% so far today, at 298p they continue to trade well below annual highs of 712p and far, far below my discounted cash flow based target price of at least 1,060p - but potentially 2,500p in the upside case. This is a compelling valuation for a business that has only just entered into its first full-year of earnings, occupies a commanding position in a high value niche market and has a strong balance sheet. "Strong buy". *Avanti Communications is a corporate client of Rivington Street Holdings, the owner of this website, and the SF t1ps Growth Fund owns shares in Avanti. 13/12/2011 11:03 | Some are going to need to see figures before being convinced but what is clear they are winning contracts whether enough only time and the figures will tell. As I have commented many times I'm confident David Williams knows what he is doing and has the product, the business plan, the drive, the focus and the determination to grow AVN into a much bigger company. That is why I'm holding.....and added this morning :-) | ![]() yorgi
13/12/2011 10:57 | even investec who have been bearish on this are turning mildly bullish as they are encouraged by the contract wins but still reckon that they need to be convinced avanti can compete against bigger firms before turning buyers. At least,as one of the main bears on this stock, they are no longer properly negative. | ![]() edwardt
13/12/2011 08:42 | You were and yes you were also Backmarker......I will have to apologise for my part.......but it would have been good if you had been wrong :-) | ![]() yorgi
