I have decided to sell up today for a small loss. The reasons, as many have commented, there have been a continual stream of contract announcements, but none have had any dramatic effect on the share price. Therefore I have my concerns that take up is in effect slower than hoped.
I suspect I have called this wrong and these will double on the run up to H2 launch, but something does not stake up here, and as there are plenty of other securities on compelling enough valuations I would rather back my instincts.

ALMOST-X FLARE AND CME (UPDATED): This morning, Jan. 23rd around 0359 UT, big sunspot 1402 erupted, producing a long-duration M9-class solar flare. The explosion's M9-ranking puts it on the threshold of being an X-flare, the most powerful kind.

I guess the share price is of no consequence in the short term. So long as they keep getting new contracts, ensure they launch Hylas 2 on schedule, and as you say yorgi, deliver some interesting Hylas 1 numbers in the next results, then value will out in good time.

Yes until the market sees some numbers from AVN at the next results I fear we are going nowhere, but I would be very happy to be wrong on that.

I have nothing against Niall Quinn but i am asking myself how much does an ex footballer know about the Avanti Hylas1 system.

QSAT will also acquire (subject to completion of administrative processes) certain end user broadband consumers which Avanti has within its legacy business, thus stripping out operating expenses and removing a channel conflict with Avanti's wholesale distribution strategy.

Approximately half of the capacity that QSAT has purchased will be used to service these existing customers

That means that AVN will lose income from the customers transferred from direct dealing. So I would guess only half of the amount detailed is new business. Still any extra income is good news.

Yes it is Billy however it is quite clear that the share price is not related to the reality of what is going on in AVN at the moment.

You have to look at the Ka Band. I live in France and all I hear is Eutelsat talking about the lack of broadband in rural France (of which there is lots) and the lack of bandwith. Eutelsat know that there is greater demand than supply, which at the moment can only be good for Avanti. Whether this is a sustainable competitive advantage is another matter

has anyone made a comparison between what AVN offers in comparison to its main competitor: Eutelsat?

I have been doing some reading online and the customer reviews from AVN are not exactly flattering. Conversely reviews from Eutelsat are much better. Eutelsat have 29(?) satellites, and AVN only one in orbit.

Not de-ramping (as I hold) but curious about how AVN positions itself differently to Eutelsat, why reports of its customer service are poor and frequent?
