Could be they are waiting for Hylas1 to become fully operational.

Modest yes but they are putting that with a 6-8 week target which is hardly medium term in my view. We will see how quickly contracts roll in over the next few weeks and that will surely move the share price up

Nice little mention on Digital Look's mid-day report which usually confines itself to larger co's - "Broadband satellite operator Avanti Communications reported a full year pre-tax loss as revenue fell but remained upbeat following the launch of its multi million pound HYLAS 1 satellite from French Guiana 26 November. Shares of Avanti soared earlier this week after the launch of the group's first satellite which, "is currently in orbit and operating as planned under our control," said Avanti chief executive David Williams."

Your quite right Restassured......we all have a different amount of risk we are prepared to take but I'm quite sure looking long term AVN has a long way to go and could well be a very big company in a few years.

They are leading the way !

You forget that a lot of us waited for the successful launch before investing.I was dying to buy ,but the risk of the satellite going up in smoke made it too risky for me to justify.
I am more than happy to pay a hefty premium for security.
Now that it is up and running the company has significantly derisked.
We can now look forward to broker notes and positive newsflow going forward.


If Cenkos's £23 price target is anywhere close to the money,a pound or two won't make much difference.

I shall lie under the starlit skies and wonder which satellite is ours.

In answer to an earlier poster who wondered what kind of satellite dish might be needed:

"..Satellite broadband, originally a decidedly second rate option, has improved thanks to the use of the Ka-band which allows two-way transmission, from a normal sized low-power antenna mounted on the outside of the house..."



And from the same article:

"The military is using a Ka-band satellite to pilot and control aerial vehicles," Mr Williams said.

I wonder if this is part of what Hylas-1 is to be used for in current plans?

Its a pure gamble on timing Yorgi.

If I get it right then Im v. happy.

If I get it wrong then I will get back in earlier than anticipated.

Its a binary.

Well, his professionalism and optimistic outlook on Bloomberg this morning struck the right chords for this investor.

Sold my holding to engage in a greater degree with PHTM.

Expect to apply available end of year funds into AVN prior to RNS on successful commissioning and operation of all on board systems.
