Following the US data release the US Futures Market appears to consider it a non event. Will the Cash Market take the same view; unlikely.

Thanks, my post was at 17.45 yesterday when the US market was still open, and subseqwuently URI continued its meteoric rise as you mention..... sorry if this misled anyone.

AHT has continued the trend this morning, although I imagine we are now due a pullback as profits are taken, end of week etc, not a problem for us long term holders :-)

Best AHT rise I can remember for some time. (also KETL and SSON but thats another story!).

Whether Powell goes +0.25 or +0.50 seems largely immaterial, given that it is probably baked into the market already.

Yesterday's URI results seem to have provided the impetus for todays rise, and perhaps there is more to come?

URi are currently +26.75 @ 419.195 +6.8%

At first glance I did think wow a lot of lines there!, but found them enlightening - the green uptrend channel caught my eye. Hopefully that will change over time rather than the share price declining to the bottom of the channel, perhaps some rising wedgie thingy will replace it in time?! :)

I thought you may have posted that the chart had too many lines on it. I would have agreed. It is 'messy' but currently I am using them all.

I suspect Mr Powell will not want to frighten the market so 0.25% but as usual it's what he says afterwards that the market hangs on.

Thanks Mr b for pretty chart (only joshing)US Q4 GDP 2.9%, forecast was 2.6%, but its lower than previous quarter (3.2%).Unfortunately jobless claims reduced 6k to 186k rather than increasing to 202k.Will Mr P now go for 0.5% hike?

A large rise and a large gap.

The share price has reached the December high of 5254. It needs to move on and establish a higher high. The March 2022 high of 5554 would be a good target.

Looks like URI results might have been the spur needed for AHT to rise above the <>5100 level ….will it hold?

Edit: it looks like we may have a breakaway gap this morning, subject to confirmation ..

The company also announced its full-year 2023 guidance, the initiation of a quarterly dividend of $1.48 per share

If we are having a forecasting competition my entry is 6484p.. that's the level coincidentally at which I sold 25 % of my holding on 12/11/21.. (see post 59758)

In that post I drew attention to the chart similarity to a cup and handle. The handle has been formed.

Using the formula to ascertain where the share price MAY be going I came up with approx 5586. If you calculate it yourself there may be a variance but it should not be very much. As to when it MAY reach 5586 I will follow the example of all good broker analysts and move on. Us Elite Gurus do not provide that information for free.

Previously 5586 has been a strong support / resistance zone so I have little doubt it will reach that level again.

Here we go again.

$750m loan notes costing an initial $1.75m ( the discount ) + whatever fees
then 5.55%
which will be $41.6m p.a. but I guess will not run to term so more fees and costs which will be initially rolled up and later called "exceptional" ....cough.

The RNS does not say which debt they are repaying (early) and the cost they are replacing - guess it's now higher debt cost or they would say otherwise ...

I have previously suggested a possible drop to fill the gap at 4550 so 4500 would do the trick.

To fill the gap the share price would have to break through the 23.6 Fib, previous support at 4700 and the 38.2% Fib. At this time there is no indication that these supports are about to be broken.
