With a leap and a bound the share price makes short work of the Daily SMA 200...but with a gap.

Will the gap be a breakaway and if so will it fill the gap at 5000; not to mention moving back into the main rising trend (green trend lines). Or will it drop back to test the Daily SMA 200 and fill the gap. These and other questions including the meaning of live fill my waking hours.

Probably best if I just lie back and think of England and allow the market to take its course.

Good evening Mr bYou beat me to it, was just about to mention Bidens optimism as noticed DJI etc had kicked up so checked why.Think Western Alliance bank also issued a positive update stating that deposits had grown by $2bn so far this quarter.As ever the UK market misses out on any positivity coming from across the pond after close - always the way, spooky ain't it!.

Mr Biden comes to the rescue. He says he is confident that the debt ceiling situation will be resolved. The market thinks 'Oh Goody' and up it goes. He's been saying the same for a few days and the market took little notice but today it's different, I don't know why but it is.

You will see that AHT has responded........ but look where it was resisted.

Now consider. Will the market take profit from the rise or will the market take it higher. If the former perhaps 'Joe' can offer more words of confidence.

The share price has broken above the symmetrical triangle and resistance at 4724. Next obstacle is the Daily SMA200.

I agree. Each time there is the usual politics but they always reach an agreement but I suppose there is always a small chance they will fail to do so.

Good day Mr bLooks like it, but this isn't the first budget deficit scare we've had, happens frequently and why wouldn't it be resolved given the dire consequences of not doing so....seems a no brainer to me, but wtfdik.

From what I read it appears the debt ceiling is the current concern. Waiting on the side lines until it is resolved.

The share price is at a decision point. Viewing the chart it will be seen that it is at two resistances. The S/R zone at 4724 and the upper line of the symmetrical triangle. To overcome these resistances it requires a 'slug' of volume to zoom/gap through. If the 'slug' is not forthcoming then another trip to the lower line of the symmetrical triangle is likely.

The initial reaction was almost euphoric but as is the usual it gradually came back to earth. I look forward to the reaction to data announcements. Whether the indices soar or plunge there is usually the return to where the move commenced.

Banking unease, debt ceiling unease, recession unease or inflation unease you can take your pick. The 'market' will always find something to generate volatility, they have to, it's how they make their money........ I have no objection.

Thanks Mr bGenerally IMO an underwhelming reaction to US CPI going below 5% for the first time in 2 years. Think everyone's gone away in May!......or worried about US budget deficit (which is the same old same old) and Mr P pushing the US into a deeper recession.
