I suspect Non-residential Construction Spending, market weakness and profit taking came together to send the SPs' down.

My sincere apologies, it wasn't due to poor numbers (misread a news item!). It had the highest drop of any S&P500 stock yesterday (c. 4%) which I assume has had a knock on effect here, not helped by general FTSE weakness.

Drop is due to United Rentals putting out poor numbers yesterday.

Has a major shareholder sold a chunk?

The share price dropped straight through 1000 as if it wasn't there which is a little surprising given that it has been well defended. It did fill a gap. There are others lower down and one to the upside created today.

It will do well to halt the drop at 950.

The fall in Non-residential Construction Spending did not help

Provided the share price holds above 1030 it looks set for 1100/1120.
