Another attempt at 920 but did not retreat very far back from it.

The upward direction of the markets suggests it is only a matter of 'when' not 'if'.

You have to appreciate that some of us eg Elite Gurus, like what I am; take these things very seriously. Mocking is not tolerated and can result in 'the management' making a call to enforce the point!

"do you see the end of QE and interest rate rises in US as positive or negative for aht."
===============================================================================

What a question. The short answer is 'I don't know.'

It does mean the end of 'cheap' money although interest rates are not expected to rise by a great deal.

Are the major players going to sell shares? If so where do they put the money? The interest rates on bonds etc are low.

I just follow the charts.

when you look at the gains the pound has made in the last year (justifiable or not?) aht has done well to hold up compared to the ftse, but if you compare it to uri it is well down. This I think is attributable to the pounds rise, so a rising dollar should give us a boot up.
cheers

Now stop that!! You know how sensitive I am and easily upset.

I was attempting to give a balanced view of the situation and I am mocked.

It is about probabilities. A share can always do one of the three. Trading/ investing is about deciding the probability but we know the unexpected can occur; it's why we use stops.

Good day Disco

There has not been much to discuss. The share price has to decide if it is going to break up above 920 and go for a new high, or whether it will drop and form a lower low.

There is a third alternative. Form a horizontal channel. It may do so for a short period but I would give it a low probability of doing so for any length of time.

On balance I expect it to rise which is not a difficult choice given the trend.

Apart from 'Black Swans' there is the ending of US QE and the prospect of increased interest rates so maybe a double top. Time will tell.

Further to my post above I should mention that before a higher high it will have to get past a s/r zone at 920.

A good rise to-day to fill both of last week's opening gaps but in doing so has created another to-day. The need now is for a higher high ie. above 959.

Tuesday/Wednesday gap to fill. Maybe next week.

Is that another gap! Yes I do believe it is.

SP down to 850 which is generally the trendline operating since April 2013. It is also another trendline on my chart.

The Daily SMA 200 is a few points lower at 832.

Barring increased global grief the share price should receive support at the above zones. Failing that the long term trendline at 800 would be the next likely target.
