Critical I have not accused your wife of being a hypocrite. The Slovenian Parliament on Tuesday approved state guarantees totaling 1.6 billion euros for loans to the country's main energy firms to provide them with sufficient liquidity to purchase electricity and natural gas amid rapidly rising energy prices.

The guarantees to the three state-owned companies were approved by 63 of the 90 deputies.

Energy producer and trader HSE Group will receive state guarantees for loans of up to 800 million euros.

Another energy producer and trader, GEN Energija, as well as natural gas trader Geoplin will receive guarantees for loans of up to 400 million euros each. The state will guarantee up to 80 percent of these loans.

Certain companies in Slovenia, such as Domplan in Kranj and Komunala in Velenje, stop supplying natural gas due to its high prices on the stock market and general energy costs.

In mid-August, the local government announced the Decree on determining gas prices from the gas system, which limits prices, Poslovni dnevnik recalled.

In the meantime, natural gas suppliers adjusted their prices to the government regulation according to which the price of a kilowatt-hour of natural gas can be no more than 0.073 euros. At the end of last week, the Kranj company Domplan informed its customers that it is suspending gas deliveries from November and canceling contracts for all its customers, Dnevnik reports.

The company remains the operator of the gas distribution system in the area of ​​Kranje, Nakla and Enura. Domplan is a small private supplier that has been dealing with gas since 1992.

“Based on the financial analysis, the management of the company estimates that it cannot take risks due to price regulation”, explained Saa Kr, director of Domplan, adding that this is related to the development of the energy crisis and the undefined situation regarding compensation to suppliers.

Back in August, for similar reasons, the utility company Velenje announced the suspension of natural gas deliveries from October 1, and Energetika Celje is also considering this, if the state does not cover the loss of revenue due to price restrictions.

As Energetika Celje told the STA agency, one of the possibilities is to give up the activity of gas supply.
