08/2/2024 21:20 | Interesting post on the AAZ board Terrific interview with the CEO of Metals Exploration Darren Bowden. The reason I am posting it here is because there are several generic points about running a mining company, planning for growth, local engagement, Investor relations etc. that I believe Darren explains particularly well. He certainly comes across as a CEO on top of his game and very articulate: Metals Exploration (AIM:MTL) - Acquisitive Cash Generative Gold Junior Not at all suggesting we need a new CEO, but perhaps a Chairman with this enthusiasm and business skills would be beneficial. | ![]() xow98
08/2/2024 21:04 | Plasybryn, he is there because there aren't sufficient shareholders willing to vote him off. It's our fault as even those of us on this board can't agree if he should stay or go. | ![]() xow98
08/2/2024 20:02 | I think that is exactly why he is still there Plasybryn. Can you imagine MdV having the ability to do any of that Plas, Mr.Personality :-)))) | ![]() soulsauce
08/2/2024 19:49 | Can you recall when shareholders have ever challenged the Chairman to account for his inaction? Have they ever asked what he has achieved or contributed? And for some reason he has held his position long beyond what is considered appropriate. Is he still there because Kerim doesn't want interference and knows MdV is a glorified puppet. The shareholders need to wake up and demand far more. They need to know why this Co wants /encourages apathetic behavoiur | ![]() plasybryn
08/2/2024 19:30 | Plasbryn Half with you. The Charirman should be out........ | ![]() jaynesdad
08/2/2024 18:52 | Yes a Gantt Chart - 100% needed. I see other Co's all the time doing interviews, attending Mining Conferences and being enthusiastic and excited about their Co. Wanting others to share in the story. What is wrong with the AAU Board? Mentor Demi is the only one who seems of this mentality and he isn't a Board member. Good on him. Our Chairman should be out giving interviews, talking to people who matter. It really is pathetic. | ![]() plasybryn
08/2/2024 18:48 | On a lighter note you have got to chuckle at the great British public. A chap turned up today to the houses of Parliament with part of a skeleton saying he had brought a spine for Keir Starmer 🤣🤣 | ![]() soulsauce
08/2/2024 18:46 | The company has always been light on detail JD. There is no one dynamic driving this company. The chairman is lack lustre and far too comfortable in his well over stayed position. Change at the top is required here. | ![]() soulsauce
08/2/2024 18:31 | Still drip drip down, heading relentlessly back towards 1.5p. It's no good the company, and shareholders posting here, pointing to Tavsan and say that production is imminent and share price will therefore recover. It market terms that is not so much ancient as prehistoric news, I'd even argue that Tavsan production is discounted in the current share price What we need now is what is details of when the next project will reach production, the return of the Gantt chart that Plasbryn wants. Too many half finished or barely started projects with no indication of fruition in the next decade. | ![]() jaynesdad
08/2/2024 18:27 | Should we ask for proof? Is this misleading or untruthful. The tolerance of the big investors beggars believe at times. The blazen arrogance of the directors is at time hard to stomach. Sorry just my views. But no one seems to worry that the Co makes so little effort to emphasise or support investments made by such loyal investors. Are we all being lead a merry dance or will value out as they say. How many years has it taken - will it take.Quote :- "with an exceptional track-record of creating value for its shareholders through its interests in active mining projects and investments in exploration companies." | ![]() plasybryn
08/2/2024 17:55 | First time I heard DSOTM was also the first time mushrooms messed my head up!! | ![]() dixi
08/2/2024 17:46 | dixi, my favourite was Echoes because in my misspent youth it was a perfect accompaniment to the substance misuse!. Cheers, Bodgit | ![]() bodgit
08/2/2024 17:38 | Bodgit... great track, and still an amazing album after so many years. Time seems so appropriate here. I accept it is easy to be an armchair expert, but I'd say, on the whole, AAU have operationally been a success. But thus far a poor investment. - Run, rabbit, run Dig that hole, forget the sun When, at last, the work is done Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one. - :-) | ![]() dixi
08/2/2024 17:30 | I believe in the vision! I am not buying at this level - why? Well, I have no spare cash! The board (according to vocal expert Soul) have no end of spare funds with nothing else to spend it on!Shocking really! | ![]() shortarm
08/2/2024 17:14 | Dixi - the only realistic alternative is to trash our dreams and sell out at a loss. It seems to me that some people here have already done that and are trying to encourage others to do the same. Given the company's potential that would seem a bit of a gamble but that's probably why most of us are here. | ![]() charles clore
08/2/2024 17:05 | I'm a relative newcomer here. I'm currently around 40% underwater. I look forward to benefitting from the exceptional value creation, sometime this year would be nice and certainly while I can still enjoy listening to Pink Floyd albums/CDs. Gla. | ![]() bodgit
08/2/2024 16:43 | I think the spike to 6p after the Ozaltin jv announcement is the only time I have truly seen a decent return here (and that was after many years), albeit on paper only. I have no idea why, but I seem to like hanging on in quiet desperation, clearly it really is the English way......-Any other disappointments I seem to be able to rid myself of. | ![]() dixi
08/2/2024 16:31 | If the BoD had any belief in their 500m mkt cap company then surely they should be buying at this level. The fact is that statement from the company is truly misleading dixi. One only needs to look at the share price graph to see there has been very few periods in 20yrs where a shareholder has made money. | ![]() soulsauce
08/2/2024 16:09 | I think it has to be impossible any investors in this company to not be underwater by now. The company may be forging ahead, but it has been far from a good investment to date. | ![]() dixi
08/2/2024 16:05 | Withdrawn comment - it was in bad taste. | ![]() jaf1948
08/2/2024 15:36 | Ariana's description of Ariana from latest news release...-"Ariana is an AIM-listed mineral exploration and development company with an exceptional track-record of creating value for its shareholders through its interests in active mining projects and investments in exploration companies."-I'm not seeing this personally? | ![]() dixi
08/2/2024 13:51 | Question answered dixi. 200k sell and down she goes. | ![]() soulsauce
08/2/2024 13:18 | Maybe we need yet another competition on this board - perhaps called 2024 Better Bets - lse shares you think will do better than Ariana in 2024??? Against a benchmark of 1.95 for AAU?? Any takers? | ![]() actonovator
08/2/2024 13:13 | And currently bereft of a dividend policy when will that be Shortarm? | ![]() soulsauce |
