Bitcoin has no intrinsic value - just like the dollar, the pound, the euro, gold etc. If one government refuses to turn Bitcoin into its fiat currency, go to another government that will, or to an actor that will exchange it for something of economic value which can in turn be exchanged for fiat currency. The idea that individual governments are the sole determiner of economic value is laughable and a hangover from the soviet era.

you said 'An increasing number of organisations are accepting BTC coins as it gains traction among speculators and people with money. Nothing special about that. I know its hard to get your head around but because its not owned by the government it has no legal status. You can't pay your taxes in bitcoin. However if you do make money trading bitcoins you have to pay capital gains taxes in fiat currency as you would on any other asset.'

OK so what about vintage cars or works of art they have no legal status as you seem to want to define anything of value as something the government holds, never tried paying my taxes in gold mind you please advise how that is done as the government hold gold, but are worth a lot of money and can be converted to fiat to pay taxes or buy groceries same as bitcoin. Anything is a store of wealth if enough people want it same as bitcoin but bitcoin has the very useful feature of being immediately convertible to fiat.

The price of BTC peaked between 06.01.2021 - 08.01.2021 the day and aftermath of the Capitol Hill riots. With President Joe Biden being inaugurated on 20/01/2021, vaccinations accelerated and a semblance of normality returns the price of BTC will have much further to fall and so will the price of ARB.

Be careful.

2tyke - that's still a minor level.

BTC is BTC so I don't have any fixed ideas either way in the short term. I just follow the price action. Long term it's going up. Day to day it's a crazy horse!
