Would be great to mine 2k but I fear the increased mining capacity across the network coming online this year will reduce this by a fair amount, hashrate expected to double in 2021

This kind of churn is normal with a placing but its tiny compared to the market cap. These funds now allow ARB to become one of the big players during the bull run and should easily see them get to 200p.

Can certainly see BC hitting $50k by end of this month so would expect to reflect in ARB share price to rerate a tad.

Thereafter, we might see some pullback in the BC price before the next surge.

Yump 100% - let everyone be judged by their pnl ... not by offering 100's of opinions on a BB, of which some will be right (esp. when don't give a time frame) ... personally, I think this is a really good BB (have seen some cr@p on others). I am perfectly happy to read bearish views / different opinions too - as long as backed up with some sense / logic, not just classic de-ramping / ramping (which I quickly filter).

I have no idea whether my latest purchase will be up in a week or 2, but have strong conviction that it will be up in a month or 2 (and a suspicion it will be up tomorrow pm!). GLA.

Well I have a minimum of 40, just because that's nothing, when you see what 'normal' growth businesses often reach and this is by no means normal !

So working backwards I reckon the placees got a bargain, because 2p earnings at a p/e of 40 is 80p and I reckon that is well below minimum if BTC holds up for the year and the margins are 60% or more.

(2p earnings would need about GBP7mln profit.

If BTC rises significantly and the margin ends up being 70%, the price is silly cheap.

V hard to know what sort of pe to put on arb It's driven so much by sentiment !'I'm expecting 2 or 3 days in a 85p to 95p range and then a re tate to 130p as market digests our increased mining capacity

To be fair, I am keen to see people who are expert chartists posting their opinions / charts.

I've assumed a gradual increase in difficulty and a corresponding decrease in BTC mined.

However, the factors that make a difference way over the difficulty are the BTC price and the margin.

Can the chart stuff have a different thread as well please, this is getting infinitely boring.

I'm sure most people don't care whether one, two or all of you are into whatever form of charting.

Just a few mentions will do. We are all capable of looking it up.

Mining complexity also needs factoring in, we're looking at c.14pc increase this month alone so it's not a straight extrapolation of the Dec mined numbers.

And if I run a big investment fund that has clients desperate for BTC and I can buy a cheap mine that provides them at a 70pc discount to market?

The topic is actually ARB's prospects this year, unless I'm very mistaken.

There should be a separate thread for BTC theory as everyone has an opinion.

Yes pwhite,
And the other thing that peeps with your sense of logic ask is this:
Tell me what would happen to the price if a meteor the size of florida struck the earth.
The bottom line is this.
ALL stock rise or fall in 5 waves and then go in the opposite direction for 3.
There are NO exceptions and never have been.
Your external influences are either in your mind or totally lagging the trajectory.

Well we know the petahash capacity, we can approximate the number of BTC mined, the depreciation and overheads are constant. So its 'just' a matter of the average BTC price and the margin.

Considering how complex accounts can get, I think this is pretty simple. There's only 2 variables, although they do vary quite a bit.

Ok, although I missed 90p, picked up 5,000 more shares at 93.5p, to add to 5,000 I picked up on Friday.

If I was a Riot / Mara, I would be using the day off to kick my Investment Banker's a's into gear with getting an offer ready here. Riot + ARB or Mara + ARB and you are the dominant listed miner, and both Riot and Marathon could make a highly accretive offer based on their paper, even at £3+ ... just saying.

PWhite73 - you are entitled to your opinion.

Even if it is totally flawed.

Listen to what SNF has to say and you might learn something.

Can't we just summarise by saying shares can go down as well as up and get on with discussing ARB.

I know fundamentals aren't the thing, but this is about profitability just as much as revenue and all the other stuff. Always interesting to see whether prices are wildly speculative or actually decent value. Not so long ago dividends were being discussed, so the profits of the business are very relevant to that.

Pwhite lol you are a clown. Aka peaky blinder. There going to outlaw a commodity which is currently trading at 26k a coin. Some of the biggest boys in the business have invested into bitcoin. There are multiple platforms that trade it. Everyone I know trades it. Biden be in a coffin before he passes that legislation. Clown
