30/10/2012 20:00 | nice finish today though on small volume | juju44
29/10/2012 10:43 | whatever, sell then. | marty51
28/10/2012 22:27 | share price didnt agree with you Marty | juju44
28/10/2012 21:18 | juju for petes sake its part and parcel, thats like saying I drive a car round the M25 and your retort would be "what if you get caught in a traffic jam" delays are NOT always negative, what if they are logging and casing payzones....is that negative.....NO. You do whinge sometimes. | marty51
27/10/2012 09:32 | Sorry eipgam, wrist slapped. I assumed you would have access to following advfn links? My original query was the variance in price suggested in article 23/7 compared to what is reported as achieved in the following two releases. i.e. exmoroil thought the difference in entry and future payments suggested on 23/7 would be realised with Ethiopian farmout added to an earlier Kenyan farmout. I'm having difficulty seeing how $35m and $43.5m figures reported in 23/7 article have been achieved. any view yourself? No big deal, at least farmouts completed and Twiga news relatively soon, despite the minor delay. | 85gary
26/10/2012 20:02 | point taken although i would suggest all delays are negatives | juju44
26/10/2012 19:26 | Well, the farmout was known. Many were expecting Twiga news shortly, but a delay to early/mid November is no problem. And, no, Juju - they would NOT have included a comment in the RNS. This is AOI, not RRL ... | meljohn
26/10/2012 17:45 | in case anyone doesnn't know what news is being referred to in the last few posts (I was one of them!), here it is... | eipgam
26/10/2012 17:23 | news not being well received. Surely if there was any material info. they would have included a comment in the RNS | juju44
26/10/2012 17:09 | New November spread betting magazine issue out now! focus on aim oilies | guidfarr
26/10/2012 17:07 | Any view on the final figures after latest RNS? posts 1700-02 I'm struggling to work it out. | 85gary
26/10/2012 16:08 | In addition, the Company reports that it expects to announce drilling results from the Twiga South-1 well, currently being drilled in Block 13T, in early to mid-November. Announcement of these results has been slightly delayed due primarily to minor mechanical issues on the drilling rig, which have now been addressed. The well is now drilling ahead. The Twiga South-1 well is operated by Tullow. Africa Oil and Tullow each hold 50% working interests in the block. | fraserdean
25/10/2012 15:17 | Indeed, the current action tells me the news is being kept tight and it's working. Think there will be a big reaction either way when it comes out. | fraserdean
25/10/2012 07:49 | My first purchase of AOI was at $2.20. The next day the price went down 9.2%, so I thought I had made a big mistake... The concensus at the time was that good news was round the corner and the price was dropped to let people in. Quite a few oil companies have gone down this week - SMB,QR Energy, LR Energy (on NYSE), Genel and probably many more. | goldeast
24/10/2012 22:01 | for sure they have found oil or they have found no oil by now and the guys there have told their mammies and dollys who have traded accordingly. So what does the share price action tell us ? | juju44
24/10/2012 20:45 | none have officially | mcbeanburger
24/10/2012 20:30 | The news seems to have leaked and insiders are offloading!! | big_cat
23/10/2012 14:06 | US futures are in free fall. so maybe that. | mcbeanburger
23/10/2012 12:09 | whats the big drop in Sweden about | juju44
23/10/2012 08:12 | Thanks exmooroil. It will be interesting to see what happens. | 85gary
23/10/2012 07:44 | 85Gary, There will still be a placing, of the order of $200m. Let's hope Twiga delivers, ensuring the highest possible price/ least possible dilution. | exmooroil
23/10/2012 07:34 | Thanks exmooroil. I see how you interpret and you could well be correct, however still makes for ambiguous reading to me. Anyway, market likes it and good to see it finalised rather than a placing to raise funds. | 85gary
22/10/2012 21:31 | 85Gary, This latest RNS confirms completion of the Kenya part of the deal (re 9 and 12B). I think the $32m and $25m therefore relates to Kenya only, the balance being the deal on the Ethiopia farmdown yet to be completed. As the parties "have agreed to jointly pursue exploration activities on an additional exploration area in Ethiopia", it makes sense that a portion of AOI's future JV expenditure in Ethiopia will also be paid by Marathon. In that case, M will be paying $3m up front and $18.5m future AOI expenditure on the (unnamed) Ethiopia block. | exmooroil
22/10/2012 21:03 | eipgam, check out RNS 23/7 up to $43.5m carry future cost and today RNS only $25m carry. I can see different, but not sure why? On second reading I now see entry payment also reduces from $35m to $32m. I assume terms finalised downward, but I'm not really up to speed here so I'm asking rather than stating. Any idea? Good that they finalised farm out as no placing necessary, but I'm not sure why or simply if terms have changed. cheers. | 85gary
22/10/2012 17:51 | Thanks for the news Gary... and could you show me what you mean in post 1698? PS Looks like Marathon want to be fully involved in the EA story. That is three fields they have bought into in a fortnight... albeit at a price that looks cheap to a rose tinted investor... I wonder if this will affect the $200 million that the Swedish bank is supposed to be lining up for AOI? | eipgam |
