22/11/2012 20:04 | low volume because the " street" is closed. Not too reliable an indicator | juju45
22/11/2012 16:52 | Yup, it's impressive a lid if being kept on it following previous slips. I much prefer a long drill to a short one. | fraserdean
22/11/2012 15:38 | dunno... both probably ;-) Strong today.... hope we do get more info this month. | eipgam
21/11/2012 22:23 | $2m sell or buy? | thelung
21/11/2012 18:10 | It is all to do with news management. Either it is so big that the Directors want to buy the shares in the market (thus the options granted yesterday) or horrible that they want to dump before the news!!! | big_cat
21/11/2012 09:08 | Twiga South-1 has successfully encountered oil, drilling is ongoing and an announcement of the well results is expected in late November after target depth has been achieved and necessary sampling and analysis has been completed | fraserdean
20/11/2012 18:23 | wll, their are either mechanical issues or they're testing something | fraserdean
15/11/2012 21:25 | yep. never been harder to make money here | juju44
15/11/2012 21:10 | JujuDifficult to be one step ahead in today's market. | alistair4444
15/11/2012 20:09 | i would trust no one in these markets. Governments who manipulate markets , bankers who manipulate everything , directors who line their own pockets at the expense of shareholders, etc, etc. The only way to make money is to think like they do and be a step ahead | juju44
15/11/2012 12:37 | I think you can trust the integrity of TLW | eipgam
15/11/2012 09:43 | Thanks Exmooroil. So the earlier RNS was referring only to wire logging and was weeks out in timescales. Hmmm ... If I were of a suspicious disposition I might be thinking they were trying to put a lid on it .. | meljohn
15/11/2012 09:40 | pity they dont give some explanation as to why the timeline keeps slipping - it just might be good news. Some recovery today in Sweden | juju44
15/11/2012 09:35 | Tullow IMS yesterday: Extract: "Following the excellent start to its Rift Basin exploration campaign in Kenya with the discovery of over 100 metres of net oil pay in the first exploration well, Ngamia-1 in Block 10BB, Tullow commenced drilling the Twiga South-1 exploration well in August 2012. The well is located 22km north of Ngamia in the adjacent Block 13T and is testing a new structure in the same, Tertiary aged, geological basin as Ngamia. On 31 October 2012, Tullow announced that oil had been encountered in the Twiga South-1 well and that further details will follow after the well has reached Total Depth (TD) and a full set of wireline logs have been run. These activities are expected to be completed in the coming weeks and a testing programme on the Twiga South-1 and Ngamia-1 wells is being considered" | exmooroil
15/11/2012 09:30 | I seem to have missed an announcment that they are 'considering' testing. Where can I find this? The last RNS (31/10/12) was pretty plain: Africa Oil Corp. ("Africa Oil" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AOI)(OMX:AOI reports that following media speculation in Kenya, the Company announces that the Twiga South-1 exploration well in onshore Kenya Block 13T has successfully encountered oil. Drilling is on-going and, as previously stated on October 26 2012, an announcement of the drilling result is expected in early to mid-November after target depth has been achieved and necessary sampling and analysis has been completed. Of course we are now at mid November and there has been no RNS which is why I suspect the market is getting a bit jittery ... | meljohn
15/11/2012 09:13 | Depends how much of it you've got. That's the question, although it would appear it they've found some then the geological model is holding up, possibly. | fraserdean
14/11/2012 21:51 | if you've got it wouldnt you just do it rather than consider doing it ? | juju44
14/11/2012 21:48 | Juju - worth having a look at press releases when researching this. Couldn't be just water as they issued a release saying they've hit oil. Shouldn't give any concern, it's a positive. You only consiider testing if you've got something, if you've got nothing you don't consider testing it. Simples. | fraserdean
14/11/2012 20:37 | said before , market doesnt like delays. Suspicion grows when plans are not met. Aoi water well in Puntland surely couldnt be repeated in Kenya - could it ? | juju44
14/11/2012 16:31 | Whatever the case, only a few weeks to wait. And it was well signalled in the Swedish market/press that an announcement was unlikely in todays TLW IMS | eipgam
14/11/2012 16:04 | why not say so, then? Why use the term 'considering' in corporate communications? Just causes concern. Also, why does the target depth TLW give for Pai Pai differ from that given by AOI? | runster
14/11/2012 16:04 | runster 14 Nov'12 - 13:30 - 1800 of 1801 They are "considering" tesing.... not "going" to test? ___________________ That was also a concern for me, but had there been any chance of it becoming a water well like Puntland then surely they would have bit the hands off the banks for the CAD$200m which was offered? | thelung
14/11/2012 14:01 | I bet they do... | eipgam
14/11/2012 13:30 | They are "considering" tesing.... not "going" to test? | runster
14/11/2012 12:37 | thats what i am hoping | juju44 |
