I think JT has done such a good job on the green pr most investors forget that Anglo pacific biggest earner is coal.Kestrel must be like a slot machine stuck on jackpot at the present coal prices. For my sins have topped up today.GLA DYOR

Appetite building at the close with the three 1.75p dividends due to holders in 4 months for buyers tomorrow before first XD 7th this week .. :o)

We know the Q3 income will be strong, and the LIORC dividend of CAD 2.10 per share / USD 1.70M due 26.10.2021 sets us up well for Q4 too..

Knowing the Chinese 99 mines probably represents less than 1% of their total coal mines.Anyway the more climate related problems they have the more likely they are to reduce the 32% of world carbon emissions for which they are currently responsible.

This is the right portfolio of mining assets to hold right now.

Yes, I don’t disagree with you. The income could even be more. I had ditched my £1.60 by year-end target … but heh you never know. 🤷‍a94;️😂👍🏻

#Cocopops, with coal so strong, and all our other commodity prices stable I can see the thick end of USD20M coming up for our Q3, and the same again in Q4 too...

Things are heating up for our portfolio nicely despite the lacklustre SP, the coal space is an interesting watch as China/India are stockpiling for winter just as the ESG movement doctrine is pushing the opposite direction..

Once the Q3 update demonstrates the potential for Q4 we should be back at 150p or more in no time, and 3 dividend payments in 4 months on top .. :o)

With Kestrel accounting for half the income and coking coal having gone up so much recently - why the rel' muted reaction?

#LLB … do you fancy making one of your educated guesstimates of the Q3 income? 😎

I can't imagine the coal price dropping off anytime soon, with the Chinese clearly worried about keeping the lights on this winter....https://markets.businessinsider.com/commodities/coal-price

#Haydock, the APF / HZM royalty option (now lapsed) was 1.5% for USD 12.5M, which was dropped in favour of the Orion offer for 2.25% and USD 25M which was taken up and a better deal for them at the time.. but the ownership could change as above as the project unfolds..

Q3 now done and the long wait for our update and income numbers, but they will be a lot stronger than Q2 that is for sure.. :o)

The Deacon:
Makes a lot of sense. Much appreciated.

Many thanks for the reply added to HZM bb.

I largely suspect APF will be interested in the NSR that Orion have as part of an earlier HZM financing. Orion tend not to sit on royalty arrangements for too long. Once construction at Araguaia has commenced in earnest then there'll be parties interested in that particular royalty for sure.

This may be of interest to their old pals at APF.

I bought HZM when they had an agreement years ago.

I think JT is leaving us with the portfolio in fine fettle.Green metals for the future and legacy energy to pay for it.JT is no fool in my opinion.Would be madness to sell coal assets just as their starting to perform.Energy is in a short squeeze and this bull market could last years.Institutions will soon lose their esg objections when it becomes clear they will be missing out.GLA

It's a really unique situation at the moment, with a global economic expansion like we have never seen combined with political pressure on the fuels that were the engines of previous growth meaning there is a capacity squeeze. Leads me to the same place as you Andy, I hope we don't eject our black stuff from the portfolio, the world will need it and the price is only going one way

In june i posted that i expected kestrel to pay a lot of the debt off.Theres been structrual under investment in base metals/energy.I am of the opinion that the bull market in energy/commodities will last longer than many people think. It will be most interesting to see this quarters results in november as i believe it may well surpass expectations.as always DYOR and GLA

What a time to own interests in coal! Any coal. Adaro is up almost 18% overnight in Jakarka while China and India are short of coal. There's power rationing/cuts in China.

I can get a price on CTH.H through TSE with Interactive Investor. I haven't tried buying, except I got redirected this morning London time, but I guess that was because of the time of day.

Remember that Toronto is same timezone as NewYork, and Vancouver is three hours behind them. So Vancouver opens when London is closing, so you won't get a live price from Toronto until after London closes. Not that 'live price' means anything for minnows. You might need to watch a Canadian BB, too, to keep up with Regulated announcements. Yahoo quotes the Market Cap as $CAN 8 million (Sic).

The 'V' doesn't stand for Vancouver, btw, but TSX 'Venture', as in The Wild West. I wonder if Treger will take them to NewYork? (But not just yet!!)

Edit: sorry about the non-sequitur in the last paragraph. I don:t know what a '.H' suffix signifies.

#Cocopath Interesting! As I have stated before - IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE TIMING. Think we have to have faith with JT who has done so well thus far

#LLB I see your logic but I think it would be difficult to be persuaded on the impartiality of any deal (from the perspective of shareholders on both sides). I’m secretly praying that we don’t get rid of Narrabri (or our other coal assets) too soon, so that we can hit our income goals and pay the debt down. I hear the arguments about getting out for our ESG credentials but the market can already see the great strides being made and jumping ship for the sake of it doesn’t make much sense IMHO.🤷‍;♂️

#tommygriff, you might need a brokerage account to access the TSE.V, but I did look in yesterday and Cotec holdings (eastern coal) have rallied 25% in the last month…

It also then occurred to me that a coal focused holding co might be a good match for us to move Narrabri onto.., and if that is the case, then JT could negotiate for both parties simultaneously then sign off on both deals back2back…? of course that could be read as a conflict of interests, but it would make a lot of sense to explore it if a divestment has to be made..?
