Very disappointing news regarding JT. He's very highly regarded in the R&S space.

Treger moving on, explains his decision to sell a portion of his holding, presumably to fund his next venture.

I think diversification is the key aspect there.

#Cocopops, to me it reads more of a precursor to growth, and evidence of BOD diversification, which could in turn resonate with future investors/funds, bearing in mind we have 5M shares in treasury..

Varda Shine commented:

I am delighted to join the board of Anglo Pacific at such an exciting time for the Company and I look forward to being part of the journey and supporting the strategy and growth ambitions...

Our H1 update could be tomorrow... :o)

I’m just hoping that her appointment, so close to the half-yearly update, isn’t a precursor to news that “we are not where we need to be on income (yet)” and need another quarter (or 2) to get there. I was disappointed in the share sales by JT at 1:40 which was a pre-cursor to the share price slumping to the 1.28-1.30 range. Hoping for news of ‘jam today’ not tomorrow … execution is key. 🤷‍a94;️🤞🏻🤞🏻

#LLB I too am upbeat about the forthcoming update and Q3 income. I think the market will expect over £13m in the quarter and IMHO we need to deliver this to see an uptick in the share price. I am more interested to see whether we have paid any of the debt down and what the plans are for the capital we need for our planned projects moving forwards. The last thing I would like to see is any more dilution achieve this. Fingers crossed heh!

LIORC shares have now pulled back to predictable CAD40 in line with the IO price drop off, and possibly a drag on our share price until we find out if we are still holding them or not..?

Given JTs comment around IO I would expect to see a reduction of some or all of the investment there..

All of our royalties are currently operational, with the exception of a temporary stoppage at Orvana, our update will be very interesting to see and then underpin the share going forward..

The last auction price of 126p pulled us back a little at the close, but that could make for some bargains around this level before the interim results next week..

Using the Vale Q3-2020 production of 465 tonnes as a guide, that sets us up for a potential 105 tonnes at c52,000, USD5.5M | GBP3.9M, if the deliveries prove to be unequal we know we had 3 in the bag already during July so there is room for upside there too .. :o)

Interesting article on the attempts to move towards solid state batteries:

Intro paras

"The leading names in Britain’s development of electric car batteries, including Oxford University and Johnson Matthey, have formed a company to take the next generation of automotive energy storage out of the laboratory to produce power packs on an industrial scale.

The development will result in fully charged electric vehicles with travel ranges to match those of combustion engines running on petrol or diesel.

The nirvana of the electric vehicle battery is the solid-state battery, which is expected to overtake current lithium-ion batteries this decade."

Yes you'd hope so. That IO price has been overly inflated for a while. Certainly JT was of that view too. A good income stream yes, but with Incoa, Piaui, Mt Ida etc on the horizon APF will need to mindful regarding where that cash is coming from.

#LLB Completely agree, good time to dispose of LIORC shares and reduce the debt burden. It’s difficult not to nibble a bit more at this share price too!

#The Deacon, Iron Ore softening a little more now and down to sub USD 160/tonne, the BOD have had a couple of weeks to make the most of the LIORC CAD 48/49 per share price, but did we cash in some/all to fund the Incoa royalty ...? Answers next week in the interim report .. :o)

Yes agreed. I have many acquaintances in NA who favour royalty investments and are well aware of Anglo Pacific. I don't think it'll be long before the base/bulk/battery focused royalty companies are seen as attractive as their precious metals peers have been over the last decade or so. For me, it's the most sensible long term way to gain long term exposure to a sector or thematic.

#The Deacon, I see our dual TSX listing getting more exposure organically, slowly gaining traction as the VB Cobalt royalty gets more peoples attention over there, we have USD300M income to come from the royalty, somewhere around 15 years of supply at the top credit rate before any step changes, payback on the deal is of course price dependant but could be as low as 8/9/10 years, and it is all free after that for the LOM .. :o)

Time and results will take care of most of it, but some PR over there can only help..

Canada is the right market for a R&S company. The model is best understood there. If like to see APF more active in the sector there. Yes they've done some roadshows, but there's plenty of podcasts, research analysts and brokers who would further enhance their presence. The model is starting to get some interest here, but imo, APF will only start to get the multiples they desire when they've raised awareness in North America. Get Julian on YouTube chatting with Rick Rule for example. Instant 100k views within a week....

Move to AUS market like BHP where APF may be better understood and the anti- coal situation isn’t so bad?

I think APF will likely buy the NSR from Orion at some point. Orion don't tend to retains royalty portfolio..instead they sell them on. TRR and the Thacker Pass deal being an example.

#The Deacon, I now suspect the APF royalty lapsed and the Orion deal was better value in 2019, instead of our USD12.5M for 1.5% NSR..

Orion will provide an upfront cash payment of US$25 million in exchange for a 2.25% royalty on the Araguaia Project..

But that said, the Araguaia project might still have some APF involvement as it unfolds, possibly equity, cash for off take, or maybe they will stream off the Cobalt..?

Next week for the H1 update .. :o)

Looks like there was a PFS delivered on Araguaia in March 2014, then an updated PFS in 2016. If the 6 year countdown kicked off in 2014 then it's presumably expired now. Some colour on that would b good.

Ha! #LLB you are a mine of information (excuse the intended pun!). I have been following HZM for a while intending to invest (subject to the mining license being approved from my other punt ACP). I had no clue that APF had a royalty deal in place! 😎😂

#The Deacon, well spotted, I did not think it would be long there at BV to link up with a supplier, and with Tesla also linking with BHP for Nickel the majors are going to get tighter on supply, resulting in BHP picking off Noront resources recently, which we have a royalty on for some mines/metals..

How long to the BV IPO...?

APF are in the right space and well positioned for the next 10/15/20 years, only another week or so to the H1 interim report and we can see what they have been up to..

-----------------

On the HZM royalty option from 12.01.2011, Anglo Pacific is paying USD500,000 for an option to acquire a 1.5% NSR over the Araquaia project for USD12.5M which is exercisable on the delivery of a positive PFS..

The NSR is exercisable by Anglo Pacific on the completion of a positive, industry standard pre-feasibility study on Araguaia with a maturity date of six years from the date of the agreement..

PFS delivered 03.10.2016 and inside the 6 year cut off deadline..

We did sell some shares in HZM recently to help fund VB, but the option I believe stands today, HZM are aiming to announce their funding package to deliver the Araguaia mine build by Q3 close which could be producing income by 2024 if we take up the option, which I am expecting to see triggered very soon and included in either the HZM funding package RNS and/or our Q3 update..

As Kestrel winds off and at current Nickel prices this could be an initial USD4.5M income then USD9.0M on phase 2 development.. . :o)
