QP,

"Just accept that certain investors may have a different view to you on this stock and are perhaps less confident and/or not as bullish."

Well said. I would add "or as bearish".

We have done the performance thing to death. So nothing to be said there which will change anyone's mind.

"cabal-like group of three or four unvalidated posters regularly throw all their toys out of the pram and display what is nearing paranoia"

Really! Does it make a difference if a poster is a paid up member of advfn or not. It is not exactly an huge sum that has to be paid. Not a trader so really don't need it. As for throwing toys out the pram I think that is a little melodramatic.

So on one hand you say
"I respect your and others' views but don't wholly agree with them.", but then go on to say the same posters "display what is nearing paranoia". So you really believe the views of others to be irrationality and delusional?

A reasonably nice post spoilt a bit by lumping everyone that disagrees with you into a cabal-like group. Next you'll be intimating that we are running a pump and dump operation ;-)

Cheers,
Niels

Can't we leave it there please?

I respect your and others' views but don't wholly agree with them. That's all. That's what makes the market go round.

The most alarming and disturbing thing to me is that seemingly a cabal-like group of three or four unvalidated posters regularly throw all their toys out of the pram and display what is nearing paranoia that there may be a differing voice about APF to their otherwise wholly uniform and glowingly positive choir.

Have belief in yourselves and in what you think and stick with that. Just why are you so exercised that there may be differing views?

It's healthy that there may for once be an investor on this bulletin board with an alternative view and this perhaps gives some balance to the almost too good to be true permanent glory attributed to APF by certain other investors.

Especially at a time when there is undeniably coal price weakness and when many other natural resource stocks have suffered.

Just accept that certain investors may have a different view to you on this stock and are perhaps less confident and/or not as bullish.

That's it. Nothing more.

As I always say, I hope that the stock prospers for you.

It will be good to see the figures in the coming days and to examine performance in greater detail at that time including dividend policy/dividend cover and the valuation metrics of APF's illiquid assets .

Good Luck to All.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

QP,
do you have any shares in APF?

If you don't its pointless.
What are you trying to do?

I have along with old posters been in here and we know the history, the performance, the directors, attended agms etc.
I am happy to invest in this company, with no debts, good management and very open and mostly they believe in investor value.
Not also but they have invested their own money in the company.

If you are not invested and are not happy with APF just look into FTSE 100 and buy in there a more growing company like BT, British Gas etc.
The growth is been phenomenal and they expect to grow even more.

Simple as that.
By the way the divi was 4.45p this time the next divi estimated later this year will be around 7p.

QuePassa,

Lets just say the average price in 2008 was around 150-160p. The crash just provided a nice buying opportunity.

It is clear for everybody to see that the pre-crash price was 250p in March 2008. This can be seen from the first link in post number 6071.

I hope the share prospers for everybody and APF keep paying good dividends.

Let's trust that results next week throw some light on the performance, prospects and outlook for APF which clearly attracts such varying views.

Good Luck to ALL.

Its no point arguing if you belive in the company .
Actions speak louder than words, .........
I re-invested the divi not millions but about 360 shares added to my holding,
The price is very good cheaper than previous years script divi.
If you see value do not ignore it.

Next Wednesday results thern the directord will pile in as they are free to do so .

QuePassa,

I don't really find you argument very convincing. You choose a peak price of 250p when 6 months later it was around 100p. The fact is everyone has bought at different times means everyone has has different % gains for APF. I loaded up with more around that time.

I am sure you could do some maths and show the upward trend line doesn't rise at a very steep gradient. I would agree with that, but I don't particularly care. I have made good gains even though the commodity sector has had a tough 2 years.

I am looking forward to a more buoyant gold sector in the coming years and will continue to hold.

Cheers,
Niels

Is it wise to start me off again?

It seems that most, if not all people on this board have a different opinion to me. I can live with that. That's cool. And that's what makes the market. Different views.

Schroders' increase doesn't seem to have lifted the price of APF though. Or have I missed something? What is your point please? Last time, you were trying to impress me that Directors had been buying ( albeit with somewhat aged data from a year back ). Earlier posts refer.

I thought the comments by Nat Rothschild on Monday about his view of the weakness ahead for coal prices was interesting. That doesn't bode well.

I maintain my view that the share price performance over 5 years for APF share price is dire.

Good Luck to ALL and may the share prosper for you.

Prelims are in ten days' time on Wednesday 13th. February. That will be an interesting day for APF watchers.

Well at the end of a week that saw this board in the most lively discussion we have had in years, generated by Q.P.
When many of the old & faithfull holders came out to defend the board & share performance.
We may be rewarded, by a further share price rise to go with the dividend.

It looks like we are on the brink of a Golden x.
Have good weekend folks.
Hay.

I hope they didn't buy too much at 332p.

Already 20% down.

I hope the share prospers for them and all holders.

But the market is the final arbiter and 5 years of zero share price performance is not a great vote or sign of confidence by the market.

ALL IMO. DYOR.
