18/5/2011 14:38 | Hopefully back to 320p by friday. Tomorrow is the Glencore flotation which will give the miners a boost! | ![]() christh
18/5/2011 14:24 | Mozy123, Prenvest is right, page 10 gives a detailed valuation and page 54 on the coal royalties. If you are still not clear the the FD is your best bet. on page 54 mentions discount 7%. However the valuation is based at the coal prices. | ![]() christh
18/5/2011 14:16 | Mozy123, I apologise as I do not the answer but a detailed study in the 2010 annual report will shed some light. The other option is to call the company and ask to speak to the FD. I have spoken to him often and he returns your call if he is busy. | ![]() christh
18/5/2011 14:01 | Mozy123 Company website in header, then 2010 annual report then to save you more time see pages 10 & 54! | ![]() prenvest
18/5/2011 13:57 | Thanks s-f. this is the best rise here in 6 weeks, so could be partly on fundimentals, or on rising mining sector today. (PS yes noted, chip was talking about it on his own thread, for his family account.) cheers and PS that strange wiggly drift down since January, is a strong example of a 'resistant faller' ( believe it or not , I know). If it can reverse, return to highs can be rapid. H. | ![]() hectorp
18/5/2011 13:16 | Good to see you here H, I've held for a few years now & added a couple of weeks ago also. As I said previously i hope to add more shortly. I believe that chip is also in recently. G Luck ! | ![]() scottishfield
18/5/2011 13:09 | Christh - No plan's on selling, infact I have a portfolio of 15 stocks that I own, which I have accumulated over a period of 5 years, while at uni and to present. Student loan does come in handy ;) finsihed uni now and working. Only ever placed 5 sell orders. Its all about accumulation of quality outfits when your in your 20's. The 5 sells we partly overvaluation or change in circumstance in the company. I do not trade. I do have a question however - how does the independant company value the coal royalty? Is it done on a DCF basis and discounted by a risk premium %? For example if the royalty does £9mill a quarter * 4 = £36mil And the discount rate is say 8% 1/0.08 = 12.5 * 36mil = £450mil Are there any reports on the companies website which shows how the royalty flow is valued at £200mil? | ![]() mozy123
18/5/2011 12:53 | Mozy123, Well done, good luck. The next quarter your investment will increase substantially and maybe if you keep them you will be getting 2 dividend payments every year. This year the total divi was under 10p. Next year will be closing to 11p or higher depending on the profits. Hopefully all the lows are behind us now and are moving to the mid 340's. The directors could not have missed buying the shares but they have bought at 349p and higher. It will be nice if they pay a special dividend on the Mantra windfall, a very welcome for the directors who have been topping at every opportunity. I do expect the price to get back to 345p-348p as that was the shareprice range prior to the going in the ftse 250. Still a long way away from the 367p that I paid but never mind will get there by the end of the year. | ![]() christh
18/5/2011 12:06 | I added yesterday at £2.90 only £550 quids worth but it adds up nicely with the other 1000 shares i own. This is cheap! | ![]() mozy123

18/5/2011 11:26 | It still sounds in my ears the words of a broker in the agm. "APF makes an ideal candidate for a take over by a pension fund". Why a pension fund? "Steady and growing dividend, strong growth, no debts" Well it remains to be seen! | ![]() christh
18/5/2011 11:24 | I've joined the directors but had to pay today's price. So lets see if we are near the bottom at last. H | ![]() hectorp
18/5/2011 10:56 | Royalties are an on going success story. Mantra is a one off golden windfall. If not a company changing event : certainly a company growing event There could be another even larger someday when things develop in the CDN coal, so perhaps not a one off for APF ? | ![]() haydock
18/5/2011 10:49 | Food for Thought Sometimes the same Financial institution having both small companies fund and FTSE 250 company funds so the fund managers advise on investing in APF. The company is in a different platform now, is been more highlighted and visible than being in the small companies league. And will have to operate with a different set of rules but also will attract more capital for more investments. It is a fact that most of the royalties are coming from blue chip companies such as RIO TINTO, BHP BILLITON, and ANGLO AMERICAN. | ![]() christh

18/5/2011 10:29 | Haydock, the divi will increase then, as the profits will double in the next quarter. That's why the directors have been buying!!!!!!!! Going by the chart we should start see a strong rise June onwards. | ![]() christh
18/5/2011 10:24 | Happy: very happy November 2010 presentation. Mantra 6.4% holding value $47m The big one is on next month !!!!! | ![]() haydock |
