I am out at £1.165. I averaged up after selling 50% too early so average was 30p in the end still not too shabby :0)

Thanks guys. It was only ever supposed to be a little punt/play money when I first invested in ARB a couple of years ago - I considered calling in the towel at 4p, but decided the value was so low at that point I might as well leave it just in case - that just in case went bloody ballistic, to about x 3 or 4 what I had hoped it might have potential for. Just goes to show..

Also got out at the Bell for the same reason, otc closed down last night so thought it might have an impact. Maybe it was just KS dumping! £330mcap now, BTC has rallied but.. There also must be a huge number of people sitting on paper gains that must be in a similar position.

Big gap at 80p too Wan 🙄

You'd think that with Bidens promise to helicopter drop another $2 trillion, that gold would be sought after just now!

Vela Technologies (VELA) Holds a good chunk of MODE. And a good chunk of BlockchainK2 and WeShop amongst other holdings.

Yeah, I’ve changed my mind on this.
I would rather it happened as well. Any money that is needed for any growth is easily borrowed if it can’t already be funded from cash and operations.
It’s not like we’d need 100m tomorrow.

Morning all,

'Bitcoin never sleeps' - and coincidentally, I have not been sleeping well either this week - too much action going on with my holdings, so, I have followed Brasso out of ARB this morning. Relieved to manage to get out for 103p after the mini-flash crash to $36k bitcoin last night and repeated tests of the low. I feared there may be a big sell off today after the US trading took the share price down.

Was sitting on a near 1,300% profit from my average at 8p - so bloody stupid not to get out, now, I think!? Greed is dangerous.. I feel relieved, regardless of where the share price goes now.

The future is just too hard to predict, with the price of BTC, difficulty rate as new machines come online and technology changes etc and then another halving of rewards in 4 years - what kind of p/e ratio do you apply to a company with these unknown variables?

Well done Brasso. I am still in MODE . Surely if people start to sell BTC this company still makes money. They charge a 1% commission for trades on there app. Apparently 630 billion was traded yesterday. Even if they only got a very small part of that, that is massive revenue ? !!

yes, big factor in this game is position size,,, not sure I'd sleep if I had my AAZ cash in BTC rather than AAZ,,,, but, a smaller % of it would have outperformed the bigger % I have in AAZ,,, but, then it comes down to risk :-),,, all part of the game :-),,, and very well done to those who went into BTC, ARB with a small or a large pot :-) cheers Wan :-)

edit, but, as for where we are today with BTC ARB,,,, a rise from 40,000 to 120,000 is only a 3 bagger, so I believe that can be found elsewhere with less risk,,,, but,,, I am probably completely wrong and BTC will now march onto 500,000 etc etc etc LOL,,,, we shall see :-)

One can argue that the special div Monies could be better spent by our co reinvesting in exploration, but I would prefer a special div.
I these times, it should send out a strong message and be viewed by the market as quite exceptional.
It’s a tough call but having mentioned/promised it, a withdrawal would send the wrong message. IMO

Quick thought on the potential special dividend in Q1 2021.

It was mentioned in the 2020 interim results (23rd Sept) .... "The directors will also consider a special dividend in Q1 2021 due to the on-going strong cash generation."

At that time the gold price was around $1880 (vs $1910 now), silver $24 (vs $27 now), copper $3 (vs $3.70 now).

So all metal prices have risen since the special dividend was first mooted. Reckon it's a nailed-on certainty now.

Bitcoin should top out around September this cycle. Then it will go into hibernation for 1 - 2 years probably falling 50% - 75%. Then the mayhem starts again in 2024 when the block reward drops from 6.25 to 3.125 coins and the supply squeeze happens all over again.

When you look at the price performance of bitcoin, it has behaved pretty much like
a highly geared play on equities and other highly correlated "risk assets" like corporate bonds.
The overall rise in price since 2012, when you could pick one up for $4, has been spectacular; a stunning 10,000 bagging return to date, if one had simply bought and held for ~8yrs. [and not lost your virtual wallet in the meantime]

There have been a few dramatic sell offs.
Although, with hindsight, these have presented great entry points, it's worth noting
that when the sell offs have occurred [2013, 2015, 2018 and Feb./March 2020], they have coincided with substantial sell offs in e.g. major equity indices.
Those were all during episodes of fallen risk appetite, for which bitcoin has behaved like a leveraged play.

Anyway, turning the above observation on its head, does Bitcoin serve as an early warning indicator for a general sell off of risk assets?
Like, whenever it's gone parabolic, as it has done so before those 4 sell offs noted.

Gone parabolic over the past 3 months.
And during this period, there's been a decidedly high level of risk appetite, most obviously for the "reflation trade".
Where are the Bears?
Skulking in the woods it seems.
Analysts etc may sound off some bearish prognosis for H2 2021, 2022 or beyond but
its a rare beast that doesn't see risk assets higher at end of H1 than now.

Its those unexpected turns of bad news that roil risk markets.
The higher they ride, the harder they fall.
And they are certainly flying sky high at this time.
fwliw, my guess is that bitcoin won't act as a canary in mine, in that it will top out before bad news lands and other risk assets sell off; but it is already offering a guide as to the magnitude of reaction to any unexpected bad news.

Well sure it does RB, but I’m using a very broad brush of generalisation. One which applies as well any broad brush of generalisation does :)

I deployed some of the funds into AAZ, PPC, FRES and ORPH.

Will try and find some dividend income now that does not keep me awake at night.

I will be back in Rio De Janeiro in 2 days so I feel a party coming on...
