08/1/2021 16:44 | Brasso38 Jan '21 - 15:38 - 29448 of 29455 0 0 0 the BTC doubters will be proved incorrect I am afraid. $100k is certain IMO. -------------------- I have no idea what the eventual high will be (lunacy on the part of backers never ceases to amaze me), but I will tell you this - eventually bitcoin will settle at zero. When I know not, but it will for reasons I have pointed out previously. | yasx
08/1/2021 16:40 | King Suarez8 Jan '21 - 14:54 - 29436 of 29452 0 0 0 "CNBC's Cramer saying that BTC has replaced gold" Wouldn't that be ironic/disappointing given we have waited 18 months or so watching the gold price soar, with no appreciation in the AAZ (and other miners) share price, only to have gold cease to be sought after as the long awaited positive news flow finally arrives - cruel world! -------------------- I assume your comment is in jest. That bitcoin is a credible substitute for gold is absurd at best. | yasx
08/1/2021 16:40 | Peter Schiff will be having a heart attack | donald pond
08/1/2021 16:40 | I've said it before but it bears repeating. Jim Rogers once said the way he invests is that he waits until there is a pile of money sitting in the corner of the room, then goes and picks it up. I really think my best investments have been as simple as that. Not buying trends, or turnaround situations, or trying to anticipate the future. But just buying stocks where all of the information is there, the value is obvious, but people are looking elsewhere. The only drawback, as Jim Rogers himself acknowledges, is that sometimes you can be early to the party. But he is also the only investor I am aware of who has never made a major mistake. Because he buys when value is extreme. At some point, it always gets recognised. I feel thats where AAZ is now, its money in the corner of the room. | donald pond
08/1/2021 16:39 | "CNBC's Cramer saying that BTC has replaced gold.." Cramer always makes outrageous comments to induce a reaction.... | yasx
08/1/2021 16:35 | DP, Indeed. I would be worried if there was a fundamental change in the business - in fact, there have been several - but (production aside), the changes have been favourable. So, there are even more reasons to buy and not one scintilla of evidence that suggests one ought to sell. That some are selling is merely of benefit to those who are buying the dips since they are accumulating cheaply when in reality they [buyers] should right now be paying the previous highs or more. | yasx
08/1/2021 16:26 | Aye yasX, one of my holdings, EML, has started to come good today, but it's been a very long wait. You buy when nobody is interested, and then, as soon as people get interested and it starts moving, its too late to buy. The biggest advantage that we have as individual investors is the ability to chart our own course. | donald pond |
