09/1/2021 11:48 | A share to watch as the hospitality industry heads over the cliff is MARS. It has been rising steadily as the lockdown bites for the simple reason many bars and restaurants will not be reopening after lockdown but the big chains will. | ![]() pogue
09/1/2021 10:45 | Thanks Odsjp, great work. I got the second biggest riser with IRON, so happy with that. For next week, can you split mine between IRON and AYM please.I think AYM might release their PEA next week which if things are to be believed show they are sitting on some decent resources.NAI, and DYOR, but worth a look over if you have time this weekend'Pool | ![]() upthepool

09/1/2021 10:29 | Hi KS - Thanks for finding that article on the interest re: MODE I assumed it was just the first eight weeks in order to encourage people to open accounts but guess they could offer a much lower percentage after that and take some from the transaction fees. I see from their 21/10 RNS that they are converting 10% of their cash to bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset. They raised £7.5M (from 12/10 RNS) so guess they could have bought as much as £500K-£750K of bitcoin when it was around 10T USD per bitcoin. Not bad timing as if we take the lower value, that £500K would now be worth close to £2M. | ![]() odsjp

09/1/2021 10:15 | Hi Tony, One of the competition rules is that if you chose multiple shares is that it must be split equally (so 33.3% for three shares, 50% for two shares) as it just makes my job a bit easier. Trust you are OK with this. | ![]() odsjp

09/1/2021 10:04 | They have been talking the talk for a long while now KS. I looked at them when the price was under 0.2 after ipo. I emailed Zamboni and he interacted on the bulletin board at that time. They are essentially a middle man and I just couldn’t work out how they were going to make any real money. They may well be a good investment but I couldn’t easily see it and there are other far more transparent businesses out there to invest in imo. By the way KS thank you for your excellent posts on Arb and Bitcoin generally over the last few days. Very informative and helpful. | ![]() fozzie
09/1/2021 10:00 | Hi odsjp, I have had a good ride on ARB but feel I should revert to some of my original choices (that let me down) so can you split my 100% ARB monies as follows. AVACT 50% ODX 25% TILS 25% Cheers Tony | ![]() tonyhancock

09/1/2021 09:29 | I spoke at a ShareSoc shorting masterclass in November and the other 3 panellists were all short on SYME. They didn't say anything so blunt, but reading between the lines, I think many believe it is a scam. | ![]() donald pond
09/1/2021 01:13 | Matt I think we all recognize your great calls on GFM and CPX. The percentages were not as big as ARB but your research on those two was still outstanding. You deserved to be higher up in the final results. | ![]() brasso3
09/1/2021 00:37 | Congrats to all the big ARB winners in the competition and certainly to those who in real life have banked a big haul. Terrific achievement. This just goes to show how it only takes two or, even occasionally one, big winner and many financial worries in one's life may be overcome. No guarantee of happiness in life but, certainly can give one the financial freedom to tick off most of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and concentrate more on other things which, hopefully, will bring greater sense of reward than just the money itself. I've 'only' managed to double my starting pot in 9 weeks yet, now find myself barely in the top ten! Just incredible. The last few weeks in the markets have been hugely engaging to be a part of. | ![]() mattjos

08/1/2021 23:36 | Has anyone looked at SYME? They are another company in the 'Fintech' space - inventory monetisation. "Supply@ME has developed an alternative platform focused on inventory monetisation, which can enable a wide range of manufacturing and trading businesses to improve their working capital position (via a “true sale” of the inventory to special purpose vehicles incorporated by Supply@ME) and also provide a new asset class to investors." They are just getting started, having spent a few years in development and in interviews I have watched reckon they have a 3 year head start on any other competitors in this space. They will get a 2% fee on the gross value of inventories: ""In a trading update, Supply@ME added that it had 152 client companies as of November 30, 2020, with gross originations worth €1.9bn or a 16% rise since September." So that works out as €38m per annum net income based on getting the initial client base on stream - and is a highly scalable product that can be used worldwide across many industries so huge potential. Current market cap is £190m. Seems a bit too good to be true as if the figures are correct it could easily and quickly scale up and become a multi-billion £ business? | ![]() king suarez

08/1/2021 23:20 | Hi odsjp, Yes, just a small position in MODE at the moment - still trying to understand it and the potential. "Mode generates interest by working through partnerships with market-leading institutional lending providers including New York-based Celsius Network. Celsius Network generates yield by lending out Bitcoin and other digital assets to carefully vetted borrowers." I found the above. Presumably there is money lending going on with Bitcoin as collateral, like in the repo markets? I assume they are lending out a portion of customer deposits? Also, presumably the volume of customer money subject to the 1% transaction fee must be turning over more interest income than the annual 5% yield on the bitcoin JAR interest account deposits. It is unclear whether the 5% interest is for only the first 8 weeks per customer, or is this an indefinite annual yield? Think I need to research more! | ![]() king suarez
08/1/2021 23:01 | Great work as usual odsjp. I personally felt a little bit guilty about going 100% ARB when to a degree there is some knowledge built in when the BTC price carries on over the weekend (unlike other shares). I didn't quite have the killer instinct of those that went 100%....but my real world exposure compensates :-) | ![]() qazwsxedc69
08/1/2021 22:59 | Hi KS - I see you posted on the MODE board so assume you are also now a holder. One thing I can't understand and was wondering if you can shed some light on it. They mention (extract below) that their bitcoin jar will pay 5% interest APY for the first 8 weeks. Any idea how they are funding this? Bitcoin like gold is non-interest bearing unless they are lending out their bitcoin (10% of their cash as I understand) or paying it from their cash reserves. Thanks Mode's Bitcoin Jar aims to give people access to higher-interest earning products than those they are accustomed to by offering a 5% APY for the first 8 weeks after launch with no lock-up periods – making it one of the most flexible, high-yield products in the Bitcoin market | ![]() odsjp
08/1/2021 22:51 | Here are the results... No surprises on the top performing share with ARB up 256%. I will not name (and shame all those who picked it who now have six figure balances) but I will say that fez stays in the top spot with £319K, a ten-bagger in 9 weeks. Serious congratulations to all those who made money with ARB, I wasn't one of them!!! So the new challenge is to find the next ARB and the expectation that the weekly winner on Dec 31st will have a notional balance of over £1M. Go on, you know you can do it. As a result, I will list below the next best performing shares for the last week so as to allow the ARB investors a potential change or at least split between their ARB winnings. 1. ARB (up 256%) 2. IRON (up 37%) 3. VRS (up 36%) 4. ORR (up 33%) 5. BLU (up 31%) 6. RBW (up 31%) 7. ENT (up 30%) 8. PXC (up 26%) 9. GFM (up 24%) I imagine most of you are enjoying a nice bottle of red wine tonight (or whatever your tipple is) as your real portfolios are probably at all time (or near time) highs. Mine is and I didn't even choose ARB. :) As I don't want to miss the next one, where is the ARB money going. I see that MODE seems to be a favourite and I have taken a smallish position there. Any others? Week 9 - Finish | ![]() odsjp

08/1/2021 21:19 | Not my comment but sums up today nicely.. The whole thing seems ludicrous to me. If today wasn't depressing enough for gold bulls, $TSLA added an entire $NEM and $AEM to its market cap today | c0lin1 |
