Anyone would think the Non-Farm Payrolls weren't awful and $2,000 cheques weren't on the way.

"CNBC's Cramer saying that BTC has replaced gold"

Wouldn't that be ironic/disappointing given we have waited 18 months or so watching the gold price soar, with no appreciation in the AAZ (and other miners) share price, only to have gold cease to be sought after as the long awaited positive news flow finally arrives - cruel world!

Update on my findings with regards to moving from final salary pension scheme into a SIPP for anyone interested. If not please feel free to skip. Was quoted 5k pounds by an IFA to do the transfer. All about rule changes since October and a risk assessment being carried out and insurances - and this is payable whether they recommend a switch or not. Ouch.So having got some great advice on here, thanks, I've decided to go down the route of what a poster (sorry can't remember who it was) said and keep the final salary scheme, and a few months before retiring transferring to a SIPP so I can either drawdown on it or keep it invested depending on my financial circumstances at the time. Thanks for all your help guys, it is much appreciated

Any chartists here like to predict the likely share price path of travel for PPC?

Lefrene, well I think we all know who's hammering the gold, but as you say, if all want delivery of the metal then gold will fly as there are at the last count some 20 times more contracts than there is gold in the market. So at some point there will be a big hike and I reckon sometime in the next 12 month could see the start of it.

Win still going well, it completely ignored ex-dividend, something I'm not used to. Plenty of catch up when compared to clipper especially with Waitrose clicking in now with e-fulfilment.

Regarding your gold chart. I think it looks much better on the daily candlesticks. If it bounces now from around $1890 then its game on for next week.

Me too Katsy, plainly big players want to keep gold supressed in dollar terms. Now I wonder who that might be? :¬) But will it be a case that if the dam breaks it'll break big time. I would guess that a crunch will come as more holders of futures contracts insist on physical delivery, particularly if those holders are governments such as China. The Chinese have said more than once that they are out to defeat America, and judging by the election and the peculiar event at Capitol Hill, I'd say their game is working very well.

If I was holding ARB would at list take 50% profits.
If it looks to good to be true then most likley it is. I never touched as I am not a Bitcoin fan.

Terropol, for some reason gold price is being stubborn, this moves down when gold falls. I'm still staggered that gold is still lower than the peak of 2011, given the amount of devaluation of fiat currencies and massive debt pile increases over the same period.

I’ve held my best performing share for 18 years so Septembers a breeze. I bought into Arb thinking I could maybe get a quick double to 16p which would give my youngest the deposit for his house, I can buy half the house now lol, what a game....

I am happy to have helped anyone out with ARB. I think if you are prepared to wait until September it will reward you further. Just remember nobody buys at the bottom AND sells at the top.

Bitcoin S2F model predicts $100k+ with possible over performance to $288k.

I was certainly feeling a little nervous last night as arbkf pulled back to finish down and then the early fall today to 100p but I have a free carry on Argo and am determined to see it through. I will possibly just sell in small batches as hopefully the rise continues. I feel incredibly fortunate to have got in when I did, largely thanks to Brasso and his recommended bedtime reading. Like you Qaz I have never been involved in anything like this.

Blu seems to be a seller about, but a lot of cash going there from ARB, so looks a good buying opportunity
