You don’t need to be an accountant to smell b.s ;) Gold equivalents is just that, everything lumped in the same measured way. Some don’t like that but it’s a K.I.S.S way of doing things.

Not overly complicated unless you overly analyse it :)

LOL Rb, moi a trader :-) LOL,,,, I've never really understood how the GEO thing works and the more I read about it on the main thread, the complicated it seems and the more confused I get LOL,, good to know many understand it and are not concerned so I'll run with that until KS gives his view :-) Cheers Wan :-)

Henwii

i wouldn't be concerned.
this relates to the weighting of the copper c. production v the gold dore to
arrive at a combined GEO total.
which is why many here would prefer to simply see pure, separate physical targets for
dore and cc production.

No henwii it means when calculated using the price of gold, copper and silver then. In other words if 1 tonne of copper was worth 2 oz of gold on 1 Jan and is worth 2.2oz now they aren't changing that ratio

No Henwii
They’re talking about the copper and silver.
When it is converted to GEO’s they mean they’ll hit target using the price ratios they set out at the start of the year.
Nothing to worry about.

Q3 average gold price must be over $1900 when compared to H1 $1649/oz, so I wouldn't worry too much about the recent gold price movements, they'll soon start going up as the money printing continues.

Rb, it does look like H2 target is based upon the financial strength of gold rather than pure GEO's mined though, right ? Cheers Wan :-)

Admirable performance on skeleton staff during a period most struggled for survival. Hats off to the team camped out on site throughout! Not any can achieve that.

Onwards and upwards

This bit worries me slightly:

Total production target maintained at between 75,000 and 80,000 GEOs when calculated using budgeted metal prices at 1 January 2020 and also FY revenue guidance of over $100 million maintained

Does this mean that they will that although lower production is likely because of low budgeted prices they will still hit production target in terms of cash?

Lol Wan, I’ll keep collecting that free money, anyone who thinks Gold is going substantially down needs an head wobble. AAZ and their GEO’s are doing fine.

Quick maths.H1, 32.5k at average price of 1649 and AISC of 74332.5k at margin of 900 = 29mH2, 45k at average of 1950 and AISC of 70045k at margin of 1250 = 54mI know there is PSA and tax on top, but isn't H2 looking like near double H1 from here?

Good morning all, Good luck and great health this week to you all.... Cheers Wan :-)

AAZ - hmm, could be a good day to deploy the trading batch if Mr Market cannot see past the GEO's once again :-),,, which looks like massive reduction!!

Gold production totalled 27,922 ounces (H1 2019: 34,349 ounces)

we shall see and it will be a good measure of how many current AAZ shareholders are LTH's today, and how many ST...

Real shame it's come when Gold has been hammered recently too,,,, grrrr

such is the game,

Cheers
Wan :-)

All good apart from the $743/oz AISC, though even that ought to drop
back a fair bit with the confirmed higher H2 production scheduled and apparently
on track; not least given the hefty dividend uplift to 4.5c; 9c for the year.
Plus the special to come, if all goes to par.

liked the forward guidance, not least:

" Discussions resuming with the Government of Azerbaijan to increase our portfolio by obtaining further exploration areas in the country "

So, the production target still in tact and we are a week to go of the Q3...
And : "Production scheduled to commence from new mines in 2022 "
Plus the JORC report really does look to be making its appearance "shortly".

Bring it on!

If all this doesn't trump an eddy in the POG, investing has gone to pot here.

He sure is transparent but he’s right in one way.
We sure have a lot of frustrated traders and stale bulls here. No doubt some will want out in strength.
Leave em to it, same as the old days.
Solid results. More to come.
Great future

We are in September now & AAZ seem confident they can meet full guidance, add that to higher gold prices and the 2nd half will be great financially.

Great results and confirming guidance for the year is exactly what was needed. What was the point though of saying a special dividend is being considered. Now they have set the expectation then they can’t not pay one so shout about it.
