Added a few today. Results should read well and hopefully on update on LOM and in country negotiations. These three things, earnings, LOM and negotiations are why AAZ isn't trading higher, as yet IMO

I agree completely; patience is the key..........oh, unless you make 50% every year and live off the land farming a fruit that most resembles you (a plum)

cant help but agree with all the thoughts here - frustrating times, I actually didn't think we will see 140-150's again particularly with where POG is but how wrong was I.
I have stated before, I am happy with the dividend and will sit and see how it pans out, although I have to say with how unloved we are I am a bit concerned if this will ever go any further.

On that note, I have to say, some other goldies I hold haven't performed any better in the last few weeks, namely TSG, POG (but that has it's other reasons as well), HUM (again the country situation in the mix) and some that I don't hold so it's not AAZ alone. I know one certain poster will come and tell us about all the ones he/she holds which have fared better!

I think patience is the key here and as some have stated, if you are happy owning the company and not intending on selling, it doesnt really matter if the share price says 120 or 170 in the short term

DP just noticed your comment on the dividend browsing the main thread, yes that sums it up for me too; greatly received but used to invest elsewhere than AAZ until they prove worthy of upping themselves to another level ie mid tier producer status.

Lhoskins, only you can make such decisions but think what it would be like on a market carnage day and you simply can’t extract yourself at any price. All about balance for me, investing what you can afford to lose and remembering there are always opportunities; if we go full bear crash, shorting specific stocks is another way to preserve balance and cash.

Well, this time last year our share price was 30p ahead of CEY, now it's 75p behind. Anyone that is happy with that is insane.

So true ramellous !Unless you desperately need money now (I could imagine some people might do) the share price is not that important. It will adjust at some point. For genuine investors mid to long term timeframe matters and during the times when share price goes sideways the divi is there.I think many here call themselves investos but they are trades maybe a bit more long term traders :)A great discussion today.Have a nice day.

JV of AAZ with CGNR likely to be confirmed any day now.
Clontibret has 500,000 oz JORC resource and is the most advanced of the prospects along a 65 km trend.
A new drilling program is expected to start before the end of September, initially at Clontibret funded by AAZ making use of 20 odd years of CGNR exploration knowledge of the region.
Drilling is to include close spacing drills in the established resource area at Clontibret, some deeper drills and wider afield.

Concur with your post DP,a City mining heavyweight as Non-Exc Director would be very beneficial in giving the company a wider exposure to the London market

I’m really not concerned about the share price and I’m happy that management aren’t either. I’m happier that they concentrate on running the company to be productive and create earnings that end up as dividends. There is no debt they have the cash to expand so don’t need a higher share price to raise funds, not at these gold prices..

Think like an owner of the company as that is what you are. If you are just trading this looking for a higher price to move on then why would AAZ care about you? In the words of a renowned fund manager..

There is a substantial difference between people who are investors and people who are owners of businesses. No owner of a business wakes up every morning asking himself what he’s worth then why should an investor if he actually believes he is a part owner. And if he believes he is a part owner then his first goal is to make sure the company survives, has a great product, a happy workforce, stable suppliers and a delighted customer. Now to think like that an investor needs to have time preference which is different from other people

Perhaps the experts that the BOD of AAZ have to rely on are somewhat more expert than those that Boris has at his disposal and has to rely on, at least in the short term.

Is the licence renewal soon? I would think that is hanging over the price as well. Especially given Russia is upping royalty rates.

I always have 20-25% cash i never put it all in ever, because soon as you do you see a bargain just typical.
i have only 30% cash at the moment, only one that worries me is AMIGO 50/50 could go either way, but with low interest rates that could go lower this should encourage more to lend and affordable to pay back going to be a interesting few weeks there 7k down at the moment but all can change.

still in DDDD, good holding in Trin below 8.20p BWANA talked me into buying AMC lol 1.2 million shares down a tad but news cant be far away there, also down a tad in ATLN, Goldplate standing up well decent holding there, PTAL also, but it really doesn't matter how good your stock is if the market tanks everything just comes down with it, it is what it is.

Great listening to everyone's opinions and thoughts today. I have taken some cash out of my portfolio this morning as was balls deep and must admit the adrenaline was going this morning watching the prices drop on a lot of the shares I owned. Luckily I was still in profit on all of them when I sold. Think I will be taking profits as I go from now on. Was getting a bit carried away on a few of them. Ironically a couple have risen since I sold so perhaps I was a bit hasty but that's the way it goes I guess. Good luck everyone.

Possibly another aspect here is the integrity of the Board, they actually do deliver on the talk, and perhaps don't want the stress of hyping things up that they may not quite be able to deliver as promised. They are not like the likes of Elon Musk types, who promise the earth and bluster their way along, and then blame it all on somebody else if their very grand plans turn to expensive dust.

Thus more actual control and less stress likely leads to better decisions (Boris take note), and in the end benefits impatient shareholders. But yes it is exasperating when no one seems to think it's worth washing and polishing the Rolls, before driving it up to town.

well said KS, although, things may get a whole lot cheaper still with the winter effect of cv-19, US elections, trade deals, Brexit etc etc all causing fear, loss of confidence etc etc.... so, time for a careful approach me thinks,,, adding here and there to already known good holdings and looking to add from ones shopping list,,, which I also have drawn up and ready to start working with :-) GLA Cheers Wan :-)
