nicely made point cmbw & no I'd keep digging until there was none left to dig out :-)

It's the risk management element and the fear of a HUM style or other black swan type event that's the difficult bit for me....

In your example, if the gold I had found was in a politically unstable area with threat of imminent war, bandits around, risk of flood, earthquake and so on, then yes I'd up sticks and move to dig somewhere safer,,,, less riskier etc...

but, I fully take your point and that of 'the Sage of Omaha'....!!

my AAZ shares are in my SIPP with HL, but they are now over 50% of my pension pot, which has taken me over 30 years of the day job to achieve... If I were to lose that 50%, then I'll be working till I'm much older etc.....:-(

so it still feels like a big risk to me right now, some would even say reckless.... :-)

58.458P Wanobi.I hold about 130K shares in AAZ now. They are all in My ISA. So no TAX problems.
Wanobi if you were looking for Gold with your metal detector and found a regular nugget or two every day, would you move and start looking somewhere else ?
Warren Buffet again says, if you know the share is good, buy even when the share is going up in price.
You have the JORC report coming soon ! So would you be unhappy to pay 80P and buy some more?
Hind sight and all that !!You are in the driving seat now not me. :o)
Check the Chart regularly, RSI, MACD,BOLLINGER BANDS etc. If the RSI is not overbought then top up.
You can always sell some and reduce your exposure here. Take some profits and move some money around.
Why did I hold over a Million shares in AMC??
You see ,the Nomad has not done a very good job here IMO. This Co. is still under the radar of most PI's.
Who were the sellers before the Ex Divi date ? Who is holding a lot of shares in this Co? Why were they moved around? Is there a possibility of a hostile Bid? I know the BOD hold a lot of shares, that is good.

We have a very good BOD on here. Reza lent his own money to the Co. at a low interest rate. We are in partnership with the Government. Now I would like you to find another AIM Co. with similar pluses. Most BOD's have their noses in the trough. Don't forget this is the AIM Market. Certain rules by big share holders can be bent. FCA does not do much to enforce low and order. Only 114 Million shares on the Market.
I can't advice you what to do. It is your money and you do what and how you spend it.

Example of AMC, The herd moved in and payed 44P. and then it was all downhill. Some share holders there now just sat and did not sell !! Sitting like rabbits in the head lights. I have always been a gambler in my life.
That is why I was successful in my business. The gambles were always calculated and well thought of.
Last question, is there a very safe share??

cmbw,,, thank you so much for that post, it really gives me hope that with time I could make some serious money at this,,,,, if & its a big if, I pick the right stuff and the right time and so on. Your AMC investment was superb, seriously well done for that... I hate the cold too, hence my comment of having more time on my hands like you this time of year.... :-) I have an average of 54.38p in AAZ which I've been thinking is high and that has held me back from buying more,,, along with having too many eggs in one basket,,,, if I may ask, with your continuous buying strategy all the way up to 75p, what's your average?

If the S&P should fall to the 2000/2100 range - back to 2016 levels & long term support on the chart - can you imagine the furor and panic?

And yet that would still be 3 x the 2009 low of 666!

I guess that’s what one calls perspective?

The Doji works for me every time, well most times. - that's very interesting to me!

If you're not losing money and beating inflation / bank interest rates and so on I'd say you are doing very well :-)

mattjos, yes, he really knows his stuff and so do a lot of others on his thread, which a great for me to read daily...

what's your view on POG, are you in the 'it will go much higher' camp, because of all the money that's been printed etc??

Good Morning Wanobi.
I forgot last night. Check out ...investing.com...It has news and you can play with all the live stock charts there. I find it very useful for news and charting.
Read a book by Stan Weinsteine's ( Secrets for profiting in a Bull and Bear Markets ).
Read the Naked Trader on ADVFN.
Then move on to Japanese Candle Stick Charting.There are free videos on Youtube for that.Doji,Abandoned Baby, Three Black Crows,Morning Star etc,etc.
I forget quite a lot of it,age factor and drink, I think. The Doji works for me every time, well most times.

AMC is a share not for the Widows and Orphans.At the moment there has been no news from the BOD. We are awaiting the PFS news there and perhaps Funding J/V or a T/O.
NDA in force perhaps ! An RNS from the Co will clear all this up.
It holds a 100% ownership of the License for Nickel Mining,Russia changed the Low, Nickel is a Strategic Mineral in Russia now. No outside Co can own more than 25% in a Nickel Mine. AMC had applied for the License before the Low came into effect. AMC also has a MoU with Jinchuan of China. Keep an eye on AMC.
Norilsk Nickel pays the best Divi 10% (MNOD )You can invest in it with ADR's.
American Depository Receipts into the Russian Co. It is the worlds largest Miner of Nickel then Copper,Platinum,Cobalt etc. All byproducts of Mining Nickel.
I think that should be enough for you now. You have to do a lot of footwork yourself. You must do a lot of DYOR.
Matt is a very good investor. Pay attention to what he says. I am no expert,I do OK though.

You see Wanobi. I do this as a hobby. I am not desperate for money. I enjoy doing this. It is just like a game of chess for me.Read some posts on the other thread by me today.
You never stop learning about the Stock Market, the fun is to try and beat it. All PMS will go up IMO now.
Also Nickel and Copper because of the EV revolution. Hence I am in AMC, a Nickel Sulfide and Copper play.
Nickel comes in two forms,Latrite and Sulfide. It is Sulfide the EV's need for their batteries only 20 odd % of Nickel Sulfide is left in the world to mine now.
