The Gadir JORC is likely to light the blue touch paper (or airborne survey results) but the dilemma is whether it comes before or after dividend payment day. I have topped up a couple of times this week, in case news comes before divi is received. Announcing news into a rising price of gold then things could get very exciting here.

Callmebwana,
Well at least I made someone smile as the market isn't smiling again. I have just lost my wife so am busy looking for another as can't do without a woman and am dammed if I'll pay for it.
I'm well travelled to 3 times around the globe so far most of it on money made here. I make a few thou and then enjoy it before the tax man can get his greedy paws on it. With gold on an up trend and world economy wobbling then might be planning another global tour for next year when AAZ reaches £2

Back down and breached overnight/pre market lows, 2637 a few moments ago. This market needs something and it needs it pretty damn soon.

Wanobi - look for levels and chart the S&P500. The DOW is for headlines and newsrooms.

looking ugly again over the pond Bumpa & it's a Friday so I can see people selling up for the week not wanting face the markets on a Monday morning and not wanting to fret about things over the weekend etc etc..

1 of 3 things will happen to the US markets today; either they'll go up, or down or do nothing,,,, lol, :-)

I'm guessing it'll be either a big rise into the close or a big fall into the close :-) lol.............

Cheers all

Nothing in this last ten years of the markets equates to “normal”. This period equates to the most “abnormal̶1; market conditions in my lifetime. Hence my laughing at the absurdity of the notion to “normalizeR21;.

normal is nothing more than a usual state or condition, so it has a time element to it, other than that its behaviour that conforms to the most common behaviour,,,, cheers Wan, lol, :-)

I wonder how much the midterms are also playing into the current narrative - the Democrats are favorite to regain the House of Representatives and that’s likely to put a spanner in the works of Trumps plans. Also pretty sure that Trump screaming at the Fed ain’t helping things. Interesting listening to Kenny Polcari on QTR on Trump, inflation, rates and the Fed etc

Seems the Fed are still indicating that rates are gonna normalize or even overshoot.

Ha,ha.:o) You put a smile on my face Clnoib, with your comments.
Yes I don't pay the IHT TAX the family does,DEAD right. I am not married now.So my allowance is 500K by the end of 2020.I am 71 years old.Mr.Hammond may change the rules this year, yet again re IHT. Did you know this Government collected over £5 Billion IHT last year !!
After working very hard most of my life,I would like to leave my hard earned cash to my loved ones. Yes, I do enjoy my life very much.I do have 3 holiday homes.I speak 5 languages and I am also very well traveled.I should not be in this country by now, I am usually in North Cyprus by this time of the year.
Selling the property has held me back here. I signed the final contract today. So I will be going to North Cyprus in a couple of weeks time.

One thing I will tell you. They teach you how to work but they don't teach you how to retire.I play the Stock market as a hobby.I have been playing the Market since mid 1990s.The other thing to remember is money can't buy you happiness, it buys you freedom in life. Every year I spend over 6 Months out of this country now.

Apologies in advance re O/T.
Have a good day all.

Looks to me like ADVFM should get a new calculator or at least some new software as their adding is all over the place and not only on this stock. Without a calculator there are just over 112,000 traded and not the 83k they are showing and the last trade was 500, come on ADVFM sort your act out and get some new software.

Callmebwana,
You don't pay any IHT your family you leave it to does. You must have a lot stashed because the last time I looked IHT had been raised to 1 mill so why worry let the living after you've gone worry about it. If I had that much I wouldn't being here I'd be out spending it as you can't take it with you, but alas I don't so need to play the market so I have enough to enjoy my last few years.

You have to take compounding of dividends into account too - in that respect I suspect you'd have made a marginal gain above inflation from Dec 99 to now?

FTSE 100 is pretty high yielding..

rather than post all the charts here, suggest folk look at:

PM:XAUUSD
PM:XAUGBP
PM:XAUEUR

or, go to here: & top left of screen you have choose currency of your choice for the chart and the timescale you want.

It seems completely undeniable to me that Gold is either breaking out or has broken out a long time ago in all currencies.

Crisis over is it?

Why has Gold gone from £700/oz Dec 15 to £965/oz today?
From €960/oz December 15 to €1,088/oz today

All these currencies are losing value against the price of physical gold.

Sooner or later the majority of people in the world are going to understand just how their fiat currency is going down, down, down in real terms .. they can take out second or third jobs to try and keep up but, it would be more sensible to put their savings into something Gold related (physical or mining enterprise) rather than tie it up as cash on deposit.

Those that run the fiat system will repeatedly tell you that holding gold costs you money as there is no return on the asset and often has storage costs but, if you hold a gold mining company such as AAZ, you do get a return in the form of a dividend.

Gold is going to go a lot, lot higher in the years ahead, imo .. we are still only seeing the start

Joey Wilson,if you are intend to invest a large chunk of your money then please be careful you have the right broker you invest with.
Beaufort went bump !! From what I have read you are only covered up to £50K in assets and 85K in cash.So it may pay you to have a larger Brokers like HL. To a degree I am in the same boat as you.I am also selling a property.
Mine is to try and avoid IHT as much as I can.
Anyone interested in IHT should look up Fundamental Asset Management.Co.
As the Government changed the low on IHT. They invest in a Fund for you that is IHT exempt.Minimum £50K investment.
Perhaps some more knowledgeable poster here will shine more light on this subject.
Have a good day all.
