23/10/2018 08:47 | Short Covering insight: ".......money managers stood net short by 49,382 contracts for the week ending Oct. 16, down from 109,454 the prior week. The bulk of the change was traders buying in order to exit from bearish bets, as the number of total shorts fell by 46,957. There was also some fresh buying, as reflected by a 13,115 increase in gross longs. “As we had expected, there was massive short covering in gold in the week to 16 October,” said analysts with Commerzbank, adding that speculative financial investors played a big role in the surge in gold prices during this time period. “That said, given the extent of the position squaring, we would have expected the gold price to rise even more sharply,” Commerzbank continued. “However, we envisage further upside potential for the gold price from this side given that net-short positions are still considerable.” | 2sporrans
23/10/2018 08:39 | Nice rise in gold, if it continues it should bring new investors, can't be many free shares about. | jbe81

23/10/2018 08:23 | Perkier Jeanesy? POG assuming a rocket like trajectory on graphs I've looked at. Up $8 in an hour or so. Wonder what triggered that? Still a huge amount of shorts out there. More and more covering must ensue. | 2sporrans
23/10/2018 08:19 | AAZ - morning all, interim dividend is to be paid on 8 November 2018 to shareholders on the share register on 12 October 2018. 22/10/2018 20:08 | Look at volume. It has been declining since 2nd week September spike ... but price remains very firm at these levels.I would suggest most of the selling pressure has nearly abated now & those sales all been swallowed up in the background.next news item not far away now, imo & clearly won't take much buying to push on past 75p | mattjos
22/10/2018 19:56 | Yep very strange. Spread of 70-74 with online sell quote of 73.126p. It's been strong on the bid ever since those interim results. Just about every day it's been possible to sell 50,000+ shares above the quoted bid. Stake-building clearly going on. | bozzy_s
22/10/2018 19:39 | I am thinking myself that Joey. Earlier on price was quoted at 72p mid yet it actually was 73/73.99. Then there quite a few buys ... then price dropped to 70.5 ( 70/71)on no visible sales really and yet you could only buy about 1250 shares. very strange to me ..! | jeanesy
22/10/2018 18:06 | Blimey. The trades are all over the place today. Why?? | joey wilson
22/10/2018 17:24 | Thanks for that. Can't think of a better share in terms of value, growth, exposure to three great commodities and a hedge against continued £ weakness as the BREXIT deal will, inevitably drone on & on & on. | mattjos
22/10/2018 16:12 | Seen a contract note that advises 0.03 dollars per share with an exchange rate of 0.022964 GB Pence | misterdeb

22/10/2018 14:02 | A little patience as always. Let this continue as my divi payment will be reinvested. Gadir jorc(1) due along with heliborne survey this Qtr. Addition of 2nd crusher and grinding circuit last Qtr will make a big impact this Qtr allowing parallel processing. Successful trials conducted 2017 allowing multi configuration of plant with rapid changeover to optimise ore type/choice and throughput highlighted annual savings of $7ml. This being the first full Qtr to benefit from upgrade and trials. | bleepy |
