Blimy I have only just found this thanks to Solomon.........interesting comment Acamas as I have backed the three other Johnson winners.

Pomp the only problem for your punter is that he would have to find a fair few tousand to lay it off ! Got wound up this mornign as I tried to lay off some of my spectacular odds on Royal Auclair and Truckers Tavern on the betfair anti post market and they will nto let me do it against todays market so I am lumbered with trying to find £5k in a hurry to deposit to lay or to say sod it and stick witht he bets.........not good as Truckers might not run. Anyway worth remembering for the future you need to lay off your anti post positions in the anti post market prior to its suspension........will laugh myself silly if Truckers wins.

Anyway I still think Royal Auclair is a stonking e/w bet but I did not plan to have quite so much on it..He was giving Celestial gold 8lbs in the Henesey and he was only beaten 3 lengths.....and he will love the good ground, a true test of stamina a lot more than some!

Had Grey Abbey at 33/1 but had to lay him off due to the uncertainty of his running........still gone in again each way on a non runner no bet basis..

Watch out 7 year olds do not win the gold cup unless your name is Best Mate and King george winners very rarely do as well, the irish like it soft, cant see Beef and Salmons jumping holding out on the good ground .........so I think we could see an upset this pm!

Morning all,

I have not studied the form this morning but intend to have a bet. This is the quote from RFO Howard Johnson said "My top three would be Akilak, Inglis Drever and Bewleys Berry" for the four day Cheltenham event. Enough said

Therefore

2:00 Akilak
2:35 Bewleys Berry

3:15 Kicking King
They are worried about him getting the distance so he will be covered up and delivered as late as possible with his challenge

Sir Rembrandt purely because he finished 2nd in this race last year

Good Luck

Zinco...well said.....having one for Aintree?...possible one to watch for there is UNITED (IMHO).

Happened across this thread by chance this morning and have enjoyed the day....coloured of course by 'Drever's success.

Once again, good luck to all.....and spare a thought for the guy mentioned in post 227.

pompcircumstance....see my post 191 re Faasel. This is a very good animal from a very shrewd yard. Run at Kelso only this season ( don't know why ) --IMHO would have beaten older horse last time if given a hard ride - a distance to the third on atrocious ground...connections reportedly wanted it to have a 'race'....but didn't leave it's race behind at Kelso.

I've backed this horse at 25/1 on down with some tasty sums ( can't lose now due to obliging INGLIS DREVER ). May have a small saver on Strangely Brown whose chances our Irish friends are sweet on....it's form has already had a boost this week via Dabiroun on the opening day.

I won't be backing anything else...that's not the way I operate. I'll be enjoying the racing and looking forward to Aintree.....my part of the world

Very best of luck to you all

some one mentioned Faasel the other day, running in the Triumph 2:00 tomorrow.

Big gamble going on tonight, helped myself to a monkey at 10s, thats all gone and its 8s across the board!!

No idea if it will win but 10s would appear to have been value ;)

started off so promising this morning. First two days wins completely washed out. Thankfully managed to get Celestial Gold at 12-1 some time ago. Have a good eve all!

Earlier today I asked;

neilrr - 17 Mar'05 - 11:36 - 181 of 209 edit

Anybody ever subscribe to these guys?

& to hoots of derision was answered emphatically "NO!"

I am reliably informed that;

In the 2.00 he gave 1 selection, King Harald e/w
In the 2.35 he gave 1 selection, rathgar Beau e/w
In the 2.35 he gave 2 picks, Inglis Drever & Rule Supreme, both e/w

Pretty good so far.
Now the real test.

4.00 Parlashan & David's Lad e/w
4.40 Point Barrow & Keepatem e/w
5.20 Carly's Quest, Ravenswood & Oulart all e/w

Good Luck, Caveat emptor, DYOR, etc, etc.!

You can see his results and nearly every tipster in the land at the link above under "Today's Results"

He gave it a great ride, unlike Mr McCoy who can't tell the difference between riding a selling plater at newton abott and riding a true champion, how i'd love to see a declan murphy or timmy murphy on the old boys back....;-((
