18/3/2005 10:23 | Acamas, can you find any angle to get The Bandit home in the gold cup? | pomp circumstance
18/3/2005 10:00 | Blimy I have only just found this thanks to Solomon.........inte Pomp the only problem for your punter is that he would have to find a fair few tousand to lay it off ! Got wound up this mornign as I tried to lay off some of my spectacular odds on Royal Auclair and Truckers Tavern on the betfair anti post market and they will nto let me do it against todays market so I am lumbered with trying to find £5k in a hurry to deposit to lay or to say sod it and stick witht he bets.........not good as Truckers might not run. Anyway worth remembering for the future you need to lay off your anti post positions in the anti post market prior to its suspension........wi Anyway I still think Royal Auclair is a stonking e/w bet but I did not plan to have quite so much on it..He was giving Celestial gold 8lbs in the Henesey and he was only beaten 3 lengths.....and he will love the good ground, a true test of stamina a lot more than some! Had Grey Abbey at 33/1 but had to lay him off due to the uncertainty of his running........still gone in again each way on a non runner no bet basis.. Watch out 7 year olds do not win the gold cup unless your name is Best Mate and King george winners very rarely do as well, the irish like it soft, cant see Beef and Salmons jumping holding out on the good ground .........so I think we could see an upset this pm! | seagreen
18/3/2005 08:05 | Morning all, I have not studied the form this morning but intend to have a bet. This is the quote from RFO Howard Johnson said "My top three would be Akilak, Inglis Drever and Bewleys Berry" for the four day Cheltenham event. Enough said Therefore 2:00 Akilak 2:35 Bewleys Berry 3:15 Kicking King They are worried about him getting the distance so he will be covered up and delivered as late as possible with his challenge Sir Rembrandt purely because he finished 2nd in this race last year Good Luck | acamas
17/3/2005 20:30 | Zinco...well said.....having one for Aintree?...possible one to watch for there is UNITED (IMHO). Happened across this thread by chance this morning and have enjoyed the day....coloured of course by 'Drever's success. Once again, good luck to all.....and spare a thought for the guy mentioned in post 227. | solomonthewise
17/3/2005 20:01 | pompcircumstance.... I've backed this horse at 25/1 on down with some tasty sums ( can't lose now due to obliging INGLIS DREVER ). May have a small saver on Strangely Brown whose chances our Irish friends are sweet on....it's form has already had a boost this week via Dabiroun on the opening day. I won't be backing anything else...that's not the way I operate. I'll be enjoying the racing and looking forward to Aintree.....my part of the world Very best of luck to you all dyor etc | solomonthewise
