dd,

It is always nice to back a 66/1 winner. The idea is to put the 33/1 shot in with a couple of fancied runners like No Refuge and Moscow Flyer. It is always easy to say this after the results are in. But money is begining to talk at Cheltenham these days and owners like Johnson and Whylie are spending big on the flat to buy their jumpers.

Venn Ottery in big races always throws in the towel after about six jumps. He is unreliable.

Olaso came from Germany with a big reputation but seems to have lost his way recently.

The stats were against Like a Butterfly because of her age.

Had they all won even for small stakes it would have come to a few thousand pounds. But nonetheless you must have come out a little in front. Good luck to you for that.

Pomp,

I understand fully what you say about the differences between the two tracks plus one is right handed and Cheltenham is left handed. Also the extra 500 yards in the Gold Cup is really more like 880 yards due to the ups and downs of Cheltenham. But the Irish know what is required to win the Gold Cup.

Today is good so far one winner and two nice priced second places. I am well in front at the meeting so far. That does not take account of yesterday's 20 points profit on the flat bets and a nice 80 point double. I am just short of 100 points up so far.
