FWIW I do hold a small amount of shares in AFR in the hope that there might be a premium worthwhile from Seplat, either way I think 20p is the downside risk for the next few weeks

I see you don't address the fact your post was based on incorrect information. And you appear not to realise that Afren have achieved pioneer status on EBOK until mid 2016.

As for the debt, well yes they have debt. But surely you need to look at the structure and duration before making a judgement? Seplat just refinance and extended their debt to over a billion with option for more - so the debt markets are still open should afren need to deal. Yes they'll pay more than today (Seplat got LIBOR + 8.5)

No point in cary on an Afren debate on here - happy enough to on the Afren thread but it's infected with nutters at the moment.

Yeah and they don't have a $1 billion debt and took out another $100m plus at Libor plus 7.5%

EBOK is past cost recovery so cash flow will now start to get interesting

Spring must be round the corner. The Kimmeridge Cuckoo is singing already. Yet more evidence of global warming I fear. I suspect methane

70p per share now that really has made me laugh.

A merger of equals is more likely with paper based on current share prices or a small premium for Afren given the state they are in losing money hand over fist.

warbaby43, "I note that they're also in Madagscar so I wonder how they feel about Tanzania."

yep warbaby who knows, if it fits Triumph Energy (Hoifu) plans, they might well see big potential in Tanzania.

the Shareholding Structure of "Hoifu Energy" is a maze.

Triumph Energy Group Ltd ("Triumph Group"), which is owned by i) Taiming Petroleum Group Ltd, the corporation fully controlled by Dr. Hui Chi Ming, as to 51.06%; ii) AMA Energy Group Ltd, the corporation controlled by Dr. Hui Chi Ming, Mr. Zheng Kangbao and Mr. Wang Xinqing, as to 29.89% (AMA Energy Group Ltd is owned by Dr. Hui Chi Ming as to 79.5%, by Mr. Zheng Kangbao as to 8.3% and by Mr. Wang Xinqing as to 12.2%), thus, the total shareholding in Triumph Group held by Dr. Hui Chi Ming, Mr. Zheng Kangbao and Mr. Wang Xinqing is 74.82%, 4.33% and 3.64%, respectively; and iii) Simply Superb Holdings Ltd, the corporation controlled by Mr. Huang Huafeng, Mr. Liu Hao, Mr. Xu Zhenhui and Mr. Zheng Kangbao, as to 19.05% ( Simply Superb Holdings Ltd is owned by Mr. Huang Huafeng as to 39%, by Mr. Liu Hao as to 7.1%, by Mr. Xu Zhenhui as to 44.20% and by Mr. Zheng Kangbao as to 9.70%), holds in aggregate 808,163,143 shares in Hoifu Energy, representing 52.66% of the issued share capital of Hoifu Energy, and therefore is the controlling shareholder of Hoifu Energy.
