Thanks for that. Im also in my mid 60,s. Just hoping I will be around long enough to see the potential here. I had a lot of banter with Valentine a few years back. It shows you that life is short and needs to be enjoyed whilst you can. You never know whats around the corner. Only a week ago I had my gall bladder removed and now recovering.

Yufff, yes Brian is sadly missed both in terms of research contribution and craic.

In terms of Amer, that might be a Double bottom forming. It looks better on the candles than the line but.........don't hold your breath because Rex is holding the cards and the market is not strong enough to outplay him on current volume averages.
Q.

PS Underhill, Mid to late sixties I believe.

Tsmith2,,how is it hurting paid up holders??as long as the share price is higher when you sell than when you bought ,what happens in between times is irrelivent ,,,, Rex needs tens if not hundreds of millions to refinance mintail ,and unfortunately he is selling here to help raise funds ,,,,he will run out of shares eventually ,and as foiled again says there will be plenty of buyers waiting to pounce ,,

Good lord Eddie I had no idea.

Was he ill or an accident?

I met him many times and really enjoyed his company.

Over 26,000 posts many humourous and upbeat .

A sad loss.

Unfortunately Valentine passed away last year.
Ironic enough that you're finding out on today of all days!!

Where is Valentine these days?

Not keeping up to date on Amer these days but noticed no posts from him.
Unusual.

Fair enough trotting, it's important to look after the long term future but I'd also like to see some focus on the short term as well. If we're paying for city expertise, let's see it reflected in the share price, which is the main tangible way they can be judged.I'll be going to the AGM this year, my first one since 2006. Valentine will be looking down chuckling that we are still very much jam tomorrow after all these years.

Following the theory RH's wish is to discredit our BoD (or one of them) there is the possibility some of his 'drip-drip' sales were being bought up and held elsewhere for his benefit - to also be 'drip-drip' sold when his original holding has gone.

Thereby prolonging the misery far longer.

FA - I think that you've alluded to this for a while and it makes good sense, thank you.I'm puzzled as to why AS & DC don't tuck a decent sized tranche away if the price is so cheap particularly as one is an oil expert and the other an experienced deal maker both privy to inside info. Any thoughts ?

so it doesn't hurt those of us with paid up shares too?I think you post is logically woefully flawed. On what basis do the directors know it will resolve itself in due course? There are 100s of other reasons in the meantime that could then result in a low share price..?
tsmith2
13/2/2018
16:55
The directors know it will resolve its self in time ,their not looking to raise funds ,so the share price has no effect on the company ,the only people getting hurt are those on leverage ,,,and statistics say those on leverage will go broke eventually ,as well I know !!,,,buy for cash and relax

We pay board members and our advisors handsomely to manage things like disgruntled shareholders and share overhangs, for the general good of the equity holders. They had no trouble getting the last placing away at 26p, why can they not clear this overhang at 16.5p when all things operational have moved forward and all seems rosy?If our city professional Alex snow or our celebrity chairman cannot deal with this then exactly what purpose do they have??
acv74

Because its evidently weighing on the share price...it's a massive overhang and the directors are doing sweet FA to resolve it..

Keep saying it, but the market just needs to see the cash flowing.

Why is everybody so concerned about what Rex is doing. The fundamentals here are excellent. Hopefully by the end of the year the share price will fully more reflect the fundamentals.

Bryet,,,he has to pay for the refinancing of mintail and yes he and the bod are not on good terms ,,personally I think this on going situation is giving me the chance to build up a nice holding at a big discount to true value ,if it lasts another 6 months happy days , Range Rover sport for Christmas!!

He's sold over 13m since the last notification in Oct so why do they say 6.5m?

If he still keeps dumping it could take a long time for the share price to recover the one thing it is doing is making the board unpopular with long term investers every fall makes them look weak even with good news the share price has not held our best hope is for his remaining shares to be snapped up soon I just hope he prefers getting some of his money back to screwing the directors...and us!.
