I have a feeling this has finally bottomed and i believe rex has stopped selling...a sharp move back to the 20s will soon happen. News due soon, monthly production next week possibily and an operations update. Also with share price so low new institutional investors will surely be waiting to buy in or add to existing holdings. SHORTERS BEWARE....CLOSE NOW OR GET STUNG :)

Harrisun - duh!
We'll see i guess won't we but i didn't mean within the next few hours ffs.
The COT data is perhaps the most damning. When one side of the market gets seriously overweight there's always an 'adjustment'.

Well fwiw i strongly suspect the oil price will fall quite a bit from here in the short to medium term.

- opec cuts now no longer effective as the US have upped the ante. The latest EIA report states the US produced over 10mil bpd in November the most in 50yrs.

- latest COT reports show traders the most bullish on rising oil prices since the data collection began.

Prices only going one way from here.

WTI UP 1.70% TO $62.73

Assume we report a profit of $40mm and significant cash and oil reserves - which I think is lowballing it, the drilling program is fully funded from cash flow, what do we need the money for?

Absolutely - a lot of angst on this board. But the decline is hitting all small Aim oilers. Hard to understand why given the oil price is still well up from last year. Maybe the market is doubting that current oil prices are sustainable. When the benefits of the oil price are showing in the accounts is when we will have to see a turn.

Not just amer though, most stocks have been battered in the sector with no sign of a turnaround.

ghhghh,

The prices I quoted were from a chart that tracked average price of a barrel of oil in each year. May have been Brent, in which case reduce each price correspondingly. That would also reduce the 2016 price achieved and hence make little difference to either the point or the margin.

Don't think I mentioned anything about hedging?

There was a time when Amerisur under promised and over delivered, but those days are well behind us. Can't disagree with the sentiment of the analysts.

I suspect Amer's 2018 drilling programme will stall due to the Ecuadorian infrastructure situation. If the pumping station Amer is having to fix will not be available until October they are possibly holding off new wells until nearer that time.

By that time a third of their total production could be coming from wells they don't operate.

This surely is the most depressing / tedious companies to own on the market. Will the value ever be appreciated by the market - I hope we get taken over to put us all out of our collective misery!

Amer must surely hit >7,000 bopd through the OBA on at least one occasion during February, given we were told the maintenance work that affected January's numbers was completed in January.

Only people who like Amer at the moment are small investers and its looking like they have had enough could end week at 15p if it does and next week starts off the same way who knows where the bottom could be all this is making the company weaker time for somebody at the top to get a grip of the situation and calm nerves don't hold your breath!.

This is a cash cow in the making. An exciting few months ahead with expected drill and Ecuador News. Expect this to rerate as undervalued at current price.

AMER sell at $4 discount to Brent? Hence currently getting $61.

I'm not aware of them ever hedging?

Been reading latest Broker Notes, general view is that they perennially under deliver. This year has to be different and next couple of months will hopefully yield significant progress.
