02/7/2020 07:22 | Crystal Amber, perhaps? Odd tho, since they've now got their nominee on the Board. | spectoacc
02/7/2020 00:09 | 37 % against directors renumeration report. that is a strong message | kaos3

19/6/2020 07:07 | @Porsche1945 - I'm a big fan of ALM down here :) But the Woodford point is a good one - his legacy funds still got at least a stake in Spin Memory I believe, if not Federated Wireless too? | spectoacc
18/6/2020 20:21 | God I didn’t realise this Woodford winner was still breathing!! | porsche1945
18/6/2020 09:49 | There are only 3 of the 7 companies with any value attached and this is one of the biggies. | paulisi
18/6/2020 09:26 | Agree wasn't a 20% move rns... it's positive and they look cheap for the patient. Seems most reactions are over reactions just now though. But definitely positive AWS moving forward with Federated which I think represents some 30% of portfolio..likely a lot more as I see the value of Federated escalating on recent news flow. | kooba
18/6/2020 09:23 | @frazboy - whereas I was wondering why it fell from 40p to 30p since results, when NAV over 90p :) Suspect there's still a seller, who'll prob sell into this rise as well, but as @kooba says, there appears to be decent value in Federated alone. | spectoacc
18/6/2020 09:19 | I'm struggling to understand why this, eventually, spiked 20%. What did I miss? Don't get me wrong these are good value in the early 30s, I'm just surprised at the market reaction to the announcement. | frazboy
18/6/2020 08:52 | Be surprised if Amazon doesn't make Federated an offer they can't refuse at some point..if Federated network is to be a key component to their off grid connectivity platform they will want to control it. With weak holder of 43% in Allied Minds being able to deliver significant stake ...hopefully at a full price. Maybe action sooner rather than later.https://www.bu | kooba
18/6/2020 08:12 | Price has bumped on the news | paulisi
18/6/2020 08:08 | Another very good RNS - get the impression they're keeping them ticking along on Federated for a reason.. "....Announces that its portfolio company Federated Wireless ("Federated"), a pioneer in Citizen Band Radio Service (CBRS), is partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enable AWS' new Snowcone edge computing and data transfer device via its Connectivity-as-a-Se | spectoacc
12/6/2020 12:31 | Desperate times... | bobonumber1
12/6/2020 11:48 | Someone sold 200k at 29.1p, well under the bid - they should have sold them a week or so ago, would have got 10p more :) Market falls not necessarily as bad for ALM as the share price suggests - tech still doing relatively well. Now priced at barely a third of est NAV. | spectoacc
10/6/2020 13:59 | There was no indication on them speeding up the monetisation process and talk of years is slightly difficult in narrowing discount to NAV.CRS could always try to instigate a sale process for the business.. I understood over the years the company has received interest and it might be the tidiest exit closer to NAV.I'd take 60p today and move on. | kooba
09/6/2020 16:13 | Can imagine CRS nudging them that way with at least one of them. Wonder if the "tail" needs dealing with first - ie no point floating the two big ones, then being left with a very sub-size co stuck with the rest. | spectoacc
09/6/2020 15:45 | Tech co's on the nasdaq have crazy valuations. Even pre revenue ones get $ 200+ million valuations. What Alm should do is split up the different subsidiaries and individually float them on the Nasdaq. You get a % of each company upon float according to your Alm holding. The market therefore determines the valuations and you get to choose which subs shares you want to hold onto. | bobonumber1
09/6/2020 12:05 | Best chance I see if one of the major customers looks to gain some influence in Federated Wireless taking it in house or a strategic interest giving exit. By far the best asset.Other chance is a private equity firm sticking in a low ball offer in the 50s and unwinds it for profit..far tidier than it used to be. | kooba
09/6/2020 10:40 | Thanks for that. "..Seemingly conservative valuations..", with hopefully some upside from the c.90p. Be nice if we got another exit in 2020. | spectoacc
09/6/2020 10:19 | Edison research out today..is paid for!But useful for company approved numbers.Allied Minds made significant progress in FY19, focusing on its slimmed down portfolio of seven investee companies, with strategic funding rounds for Federated Wireless (FW) and HawkEye 360, before the sale of HawkEye 360. Recurring central costs have been cut to $6m in FY20, with a headcount of seven. Post the period-end, FW announced partnerships with AWS and Microsoft Azure with initial revenues expected in FY20. Parent cash at 31 December 2019 was $84.1m. The company no longer discloses NAV, but we estimate net cash at 4 June 2020 of $31.9m (adjusted for the 12.6p special dividend, investments and costs) and NAV of 90.9p/share (78.4p/share fully diluted). Based on seemingly conservative valuations, the shares trade at a 5662% discount to our estimated NAV. | kooba
08/6/2020 13:10 | The most important thing in this pandemic is to observe the rules of lockdown. At a guess, 80% of the adult inhabitants of the UK did so pretty punctiliously. This served the country well, I believe. Not, however, our voluble hero SpectoAcc. He was boasting, on ADVFN of all places, that he refused requests to keep social distancing in his local Leeds Morrisons, called the staff person who asked him a "Stasi" and elbowed his way to the front of the queue. He is very lucky that the majority of the population avoided this disgusting, unintelligent behaviour | 1tcm1
04/6/2020 09:32 | Steady and stable...needs some investee newsflow to move on up. | catscats
04/6/2020 09:04 | Numis ...our estimate of ALM's NAV (which is also our Target Price) inches up from 71p to 72p/share. | kooba
04/6/2020 08:50 | Still "cheap" but needs disposals news to really shift it again. Nothing sounded imminent. | spectoacc |
