Will Oil Prices Go Up? Saudi Arabia Pushes For OPEC Deal To Lower Oil Output
19/11/16 AT 7:04 AM

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) may be headed towards a consensus on capping the oil output by the group after Saudi Arabia pushed toward a decrease, or at least freeze, in the amount of oil being pushed into the market by the member nations of the cartel.

At a September meeting in Algiers, OPEC member states decided to work on an agreement to cut the group’s production to between 32.5 and 33 million barrels a day, which would push up the prices of the natural resource in the world markets. The details of how to achieve this goal were left for a fast-approaching meeting of OPEC oil ministers scheduled for Nov. 30.

Analysts say that a deal which only has provisions for cutting the production may not be accepted by all members, causing a shift towards a mix of production freezes and cuts in the final deal.

“I think the odds are strongly in favor of the deal because Saudi wants the deal,” Helima Croft, RBC Capital Markets’ global head of commodities strategy, told CNBC. “If they want a deal, there will be a deal. Saudi Arabia drives the bus.”

“It looks like they're moving toward some sort of deal, and I think that given how active Saudi Arabia is versus in previous attempts where they were less enthusiastic, and also given they would be the ones that would be cutting the most,” said Anthony Yuen, global energy strategist at Citigroup, remaining optimistic about the deal’s fate, CNBC reported.

“The final contour of the deal is still being worked out, and it looks to be very fluid given how much they have to negotiate among parties.”

The detractors and others claim that the Brockham sidetrack isn't likely to happen until this coming year, although all the information recently published suggests that the sidetrack will be underway this side of Christmas.........if you want to wait until 2017 before investing then you run the risk of missing out on the rise on confirmation of OGA approval and sidetrack start date.....once agin the detractors are saying that the OGA approval could take months to come through, yet the evidence from the interview from Paul Vonk states that OGA application is already being processed and my link to the OGA "Well Operation Notification System" suggests that a decision is made within 28 days which will be a formality for Brockham given that EA approval is already in place.....listen to the interview links including Barney Gray's Audioboom, he's an analyst for Angus and states several times that the sidetrack will likely happen before Christmas and confirms that the EA approval was the most important and the OGA and HSE approval is nothing more than box ticking before the sidetrack permit is approved.......GLA holders of Alba.....BIG news imminent....Significant upside more than likely and upward momentum in share price this coming week, A BIG BOUNCE, in anticipation of news from Brockham and Greenland for that matter, where success on free flowing Kimmeridge limestones at Brockham will see a stampede for HH players shares thereafter imho, where Alba hold 9.75% direct interest. Re-rate ahead!!! ;-))))

"The Group will now seek the Health and Safety Executive ("HSE") and Oil and Gas Authority ("OGA") permissions needed to drill the BR-X4Z sidetrack at Brockham and will update the market in due course."

Does this mean they are going to apply or have they applied though? That is the question!

this snippet from the OGA website suggests that a decision on the sidetrack application should be known by 28 days??? Gl ;-)

Approval process

Licensees can apply for consent to drill and conduct other activities on a well and notify the OGA of these through the Well Operations and Notifications System. Applications to drill should be submitted at least 28 days in advance.

See details of sidetrack application from existing production licensed wells via link, applications are made electronically and i'm sure more a formality with EA approval in place. Gla holders, Brockham's sidetrack start date anytime now. ;-)

Introduction WONS (Well Operations Notifications System) is an Energy Portal application to allow the UK Oil & Gas Industry to apply for, notify and receive consent for a wide range of drilling and related activities as required under Production Licences.

The primary focus of WONS is the technical (geological and geophysical) basis for planned wells, collating and assigning consent for activities required under the model clauses of Production Licences (and various landward licences). WONS works by a system of online submissions: applications for planned activity (from the operator), consents for that activity (from OGA) and notifications of what actually took place (from the operator).

Applications may be supported by mandatory or optional supporting documents which can be attached to the relevant submission.

Further permits and notifications will be required (for example, environmental permits for offshore wells handled by DECC's Portal Environmental Tracking Software, and for onshore wells, HSE, relevant local authority and Environment Agency submissions).

However, consent under the Production licence issued by the OGA from WONS will normally be the final consent in place before drilling can commence.

The Brockham limestones will be viewed as appraisal for the HH limestones, and if the Brockham limestones free flow then Alba will multi-bag from their bargain low share price given they hold 5% of Brockham and 9.75% of HH.......who know's perhaps they'll multi-bag on the Greenland graphite and gold and other rare mineral update, EM aerial surveys now account for the discovery of billions of $'s worth of minerals. Gla holders......Alba is a little gem of a share with truly near term transformational upside on several fronts.....a risk reward opportunity firmly in our favour.....get ready for some upward momentum in run up to the next Rns. ;-)

"Historical Well Activity

The historic well drilling and completion history provided to Xodus was incomplete and includes several activities that are based on anecdotal evidence only with limited back-up materials. The well drilling and completion activities by previous operators to Angus have had mixed results. In summary:
Well BR-X1 - drilled in 1987, no cement behind 7" casing over Portland Sandstone interval. Has since had several workovers to perforate other intervals, as well as to try to address water production. Initial testing on -X1 in May ’88 produced 95 bopd with 5 bwpd with some 50 ppm H2S.
Wells BR-X2 / X2Z & X2Y – in 1988 drilled pilot hole and X2Z horizontal development well, with BR-X2Y drilled in 2003. BR-X2Z and BR-X2Y barefoot completed. Early production from X2Z brought on stream with X1 showed production of 10 bopd and 60 bwpd with significant H2S produced from both wells. In 2012, Angus added perforations into Portland unit (above 4.1). It is believed that all currently produced fluids are coming from this unit.
Well BR-X3, drilled in 2007, BR-X3 is a side-track of BR-X1 with the objective to convert this suspended producer into a water injector.
Well BR-X4, drilled in 2007, with a 7” casing set and cemented at 692m completed with a 4½” slotted liner.
It was believed that a total of 135m of Unit 4.2 had been penetrated, although the wellbore has passed through the unit on 3 occasions. The first and third sections of Unit 4.2 had oil shows, the middle section had none. The well produced 400 bpd of water. The well has had several workovers, trying to isolate water and to perforate other intervals, but with no real benefits to production. BR-X4 can be produced intermittently, starting with 100% oil and then quickly going to 100% water. There is no certainty on the reservoir sections the wellbore crossed, neither from which part of the well the fluids are produced.

Historical Production

Oil and water production for BR-X1 and BR-X2Y was supplied by the previous operator on a daily basis from October 2002 to the end of February 2007. BR-X1 production data was also available for the 1998 and 2001 extended well tests. Both BR-X1 and BR-X2Y have shown varying degrees of water cut development. Xodus cannot judge the accuracy of the provided historical production data (Figure 5.13 and Figure 5.14). Because of the various anecdotal and badly documented well activities on the field, it is impossible to assign with certainty production volumes to certain wells or reservoir units. However, Xodus assumes that most production prior to Angus operatorship comes from the 4.2 unit and current production comes from the 4.1 unit. Cumulative oil production on the field is approximately 230,000 bbl."

Airborne EM has been responsible for the discovery of billions of dollars worth of mineral deposits. It is a cost effective method for scanning large areas of ground for conductors for follow up ground targeting or direct target drilling

Airborne electromagnetic (EM) surveying is a method used by mining companies to determine the geological structure of the earth at potential mining sites, obtaining detailed insight into where and how to drill. And while it's neither a cheap nor easy technique, it's one that's quickly grown in popularity over recent years as operators seek to de-risk prospects before engaging venture capital firms.

Its popularity can be put down to several factors, as not only does EM surveying allow companies to gather data from much deeper under the surface than many other surveying techniques, the data provided is extremely high-resolution. Moreover, EM technologies are improving all the time - both in terms of the equipment used to collect the data and the software used to analyse it.

EE: Tell me a bit more about the software that's used to translate the data into useful information for mining companies. How does this work?

DB: We use what's called an 'earth model', which translates the data collected into a 3D picture of the conductivity structure below the ground. The model is developed with existing data from regional or countrywide surveys (these would generally be passive surveys such as magnetic or radiometric surveys) and the newly gathered data from the EM survey.
"The more information you can give the earth model, the greater the confidence boost for potential investors."

You add these other data sets to increase the understanding of the geology or 'de-risk' a prospect so it can be put out into the venture capital side of the market with the aim of stimulating investment. The more information you can give the earth model, the greater the confidence boost for potential investors.

When it comes to the technology itself, the most advanced aspect of the software is what we call 'inversion', which converts geophysical measurements into 3D images of the subsurface. The challenge is to convert high-resolution data into a true 3D model, which is beyond the scope of most computers' power. Today the data is fit for purpose, which is the ultimate aim, but there's still room for improvement and researchers are working on it.

Potential transformational news imminent with fast-track plans ahead. Gla ;-)

3/10/16

Alba Mineral Resources plc (AIM: ALBA) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed an extensive airborne electromagnetic (EM) survey at the Amitsoq graphite project in southern Greenland, targeting graphite zones and extensions of the former graphite mine at Amitsoq, nickel and platinum group elements to the north of the former mine as well as potential gold targets on the mainland to the south of Amitsoq island.

Our contractor has now commenced the processing of the data acquired in the survey. Further developments will be announced as and when they are available.

----------------------------------

The principal objective is to establish and prove up the continuity of the known graphite deposit and former graphite mine, both along strike and at depth

The EM survey will also target:

known Nickel-Platinum Group Element anomalies on Amitsoq island

Gold targets further south along strike from a known gold deposit and former gold mine

By the use of the deep penetration EM system selected, Alba seeks to fast-track the exploration and development of the Amitsoq Project

I am sure with only 5% it will multi-bag lol

Angus plans to drill BR-X4Z, a deviated well at the top of the Brockham structure. Xodus Group has been tasked to provide production forecasts for the updip well BR-X4Z, targeting the 4.2 unit. Angus may drill the BR-X4Z well beyond the 4.2 unit into the Kimmeridge formation below; whilst this should be possible for minimal additional cost, given the lack of available data Xodus have solely analysed the expected flow rates from the Portland Sandstone.
Were the Company to encounter recoverable oil in the Kimmeridge at economic levels, we expect that the well planned to produce from the Portland could be used to produce from the Kimmeridge.

X4Z is very close to X4 which did not produce from the Portland.

Lol and or double figures for Angus and a multi-bag for Alba from this current bargain low on free flowing oil from the Kimmeridge limestones at Brockham.....OGA approval and sidetrack start date confirmation anytime now..... Gla holders...Greenland's graphite and gold update must be close as well.....Significant upside more than likely. ;-)
