JakNife, yes i've read your post on TMF and no one can deny that AFC has missed many of their own targets over the years and talked themselves up.

But surely now they are testing (allbeit 6 months behind their most recent schedule) and Linc have taken a place on the Board not to mention a large stake in the company, coupled with lots of interest from other potential partners surely you have to at least consider that this isn't a scam.

With regards to the value of the company you present an argument which doesn't consider goodwill, IP and potential, clearly the market does and thats why it values it at more than the NAV.

Anyway clearly i won't wish you well with your short but thanks for been up front with your reasoning.

Jaknife I did buy only 50k shares purely as I said on there before the share price would go to mid 20's and after being called a basher etc it hit the price I predicted so I have put my money where my mouth is, However only short term punt on it running back to mid to late 30's

Just trading not investing !!

Jaknife - Can you please give your reasoning why, in your opinon, AFC will be worthless in three years. I must assume you have some evidence/belief that the fuel cells don't work, but this goes against everything we are told by the CPI reports, support by Linc and testing partners.

Surely you can't believe this is some giant multi-corporate scam??

Good luck, it can easily jump through 52p in few seconds, just needs a tip and hey ho here we go!

It's time they taxed shorting just like people who invest there money, it maybe less worthwhile.

I think we could see a major blow out today in the markets, Dow futures not looking good it may go below 4,900, if we go through 4800 again then we could see big drop to maybe 4500. Hang on to your hats folks the storm has only just started.

What's going on here? There must be some reason for today's 20% fall. What is the state of the company's balance sheet? Can anyone tell me?

The Greek issue needs to be solved. In a positive or negative way. It does not matter. Investors are scared.
This is an ideal time for Linc energy to increase their holding.

zhockey I have to disagree with you, when you look at the amount of waste hydrogen Akzo Nobel and INEOS produce between them at their various sites worldwide, and the amount of power they require for their various processes, it becomes clear that all AFC have to do is prove the fuel cells work as they say they do, or better, and then Akzo, INEOS, and possibly many other chlor-alkali producers will be fighting to get their orders in 1st for the cost-reducing, carbon emissions reducing alternative.
Look at how much money Nedstack have spent developing fuel cells, and yet Akzo make AFC their producer of choice, and are willing to wait, and even increase the testing time of AFC fuel cells in order to ensure their efficacy and longevity.
Much more than a few £mil IMO!

As for UCG, the reason Linc is such a perfect partner, is that they have extremely ambitious plans and targets for GTL, a process that requires the removal of Hydrogen from the synthetic gas, and a process that requires huge amounts of energy.
My personal viewpoint is that Linc are a longer-term target for AFC in terms of MW sales, but Linc were keen to test the Alpha as soon as they could, and Peter Bond has already said they will take Beta for testing this year.

As I see it, the likes of Centrica, JLP(Waitrose), N2telligence, Air Products etc etc will be the earlier adopters, along with the chlor-alkali's.

At some point the alternative/renewable/carbon-reducing energy source angle will become almost irrelevant to AFC (except for the very attractive credits they will benefit from under the ESCO model) and their fuel cells will sell themselves on price point/cost-savings alone.

I plan to hold until and far beyond that point, and I believe the dividends from AFC will allow me a very early retirement if I so wish!!

zhockey......

Well like everything in life it comes down to cost, how much it costs to produce carbon free electricity based on price P/kw as the defining factor.

Are AFC about 20 years too early?

They have a good product for the H economy but there is no real H economy right now.

They have the Chlor/Akali market but that justify's maybe a few £M mcap at most.

IMO the use of Fuel cells as part of UCG will be cut for project cost saving. When you have USA/Canada exploiting Tar sands and shale kerogen then UCG with gas burning will seem relatively spotless.

How do you know? do you work for the company. They don't have to inform anybody the number of potential customers.
