I believe she bought a chunk at a higher share price some months back. At that time I presume she did not expect the share price to drop as much as it has.

Diluting her overall buy price per share is one thought.

I'd be surprised if there's any good news to be announced soon that will move this price higher and it seems the market has digested the ii takeover. Andrew Alexander in the Mail believes it could bode well for investors as a result of lower deal charges. He refers to Robin Hood in the U.S. and the race for the bottom.

abrdn are experts at 'racing for the bottom'

Chunky Director buys. I love it when a CFO puts her hand in her pocket. Carries more means than a CEO investment. Worth a top up I feel.

India is a cesspit of corruption (just ask VOD) and any business done there is normally accompanied by a backhander or brown envelope, so yes, I'm relieved that they have taken a large proportion of their investment out. If things improve (no guarantee) then they can reassess the situation.

Buying a quality UK company that is seeing strong incremental growth, with spare cash, is a masterstroke.

We a due a large rerating imo.

spud, do you think the BOD have made the correct call in selling down the HDFC
Life stake?.

They look to be effectively exiting India for the ii acquisition,
aware they retain an approx £500 million stake, which assume will also be sold.

India is primed for huge growth over the next decade and just might question
selling exposure to this growth.

Managed to buy a few today for the ISA. At 229p I'm happy, over 6% yield and it's income I'm looking for.

Standard Life have shown an amazing capacity to look after Director's interests while at the same time destroying shareholder value.

I have a SIPP which with my choices is doing reasonably well but apparently their ISAs are contracted out. Have had my investments with Brewin Dolphin > Stocktrade > Alliance Trust > Interactive. I just wonder where it all goes from here other than the continuing shafting of private investors.

Still not convinced to buy in yet on any we share apart from bt.a

The gyrations in NY and across all bourses is symptomatic of dealers/investors not having a clue (bit like me really)
Prefer to stay long cash and wait a more opportune time to go in again (interest not withstanding)
Gold taking a kicking but that's ok will just buy at better levels
Less to worry about will sleep well at night

Regards to all

I will stick with ii only because classed as vip client, I pay no monthly charges, just a commission of course peanuts. See what Abdn do with charges to get their investment back.
