10/8/2021 22:27 | Mcunliffe1, are you still an investor ? If so why do you continue to hold the share ? | tornado12
10/8/2021 17:20 | Because they are as boring as hell. Plodders. There was a time when Standard Life Assurance Company Limited was respected. They had an excellent track record in pensions, endowments, life cover etc. etc. They employed sales staff to cultivate relationships with solicitors, estate agents and bank managers. Then they demutualised, parted company with their traditional markets, merged with Aberdeen, employed two useless top men when neither shouold have been retained and started to lose their way. They have yet to find it again. The market has plenty of investment outfits that probably cater to all needs, be it low cost, online, with advice. What exactly can Abrdn offer that is unique or way better than anu other supplier? I certainly don't know. | mcunliffe1
10/8/2021 13:25 | good results why are they top fallers on the fts 100 does not surprise me will take a couple of years to turn it around | gaygay3
10/8/2021 07:28 | Results at least no disaster, outflows in key AUM are in decline. Some positive green shoots in ASIA. All main indicators are up and divi maintained at 14,6p until cover reaches 1,5. I would say nothing Stella but the direction is changing. They are hugely cash rich and making now the right steps for investment and growth are key. It’s a hold for me mainly based on future divi returns but a lot of work to do to reach expectations | tornado12
10/8/2021 07:05 | Good Results ! | chinese investor
08/8/2021 16:32 | QUOTE - "Avoid" ! | chinese investor
08/8/2021 16:21 | For LGEN I’m confident in the long term robustness of the divi and for me a firm hold. There are questions about ABRDN short term strategy and certainly higher risk considering their steady AUM portfolio reductions. They have reduced significantly the share pool with BB program and they have been cost cutting. A lot depends on the revenue stream and EPS sustainability and hopefully growth with streamlined businesses. Their revenues are helped by the Phoenix holding which I see as positive ! GLA and I’m waiting and hoping for good signs in next weeks results ! If not this will tank back to 270p | tornado12
08/8/2021 10:45 | "Abrdn's enticing yield does not compensate for its lack of dividend growth" Questor (Sunday Telegraph) "avoid" ....... I haven't been following these very closely since I bought for 2.78 in June. Now I find I'm 7.5% up and am very tempted to sell tomorrow. I'm an income investor and am persuaded by the Questor article, though I've often found it to be a contra-indicator! However, dividend growth is a thing for me and I find I can get the same yield (in cash terms) with MRCH and still have a few hundred left over from the sale for my troubles. I would buy more LGEN but I feel my exposure at 12.5% of my portfolio is enough. But how can LGEN yield 6.5% and ABDN 4.9%? that doesn't feel right to me and surely the LGEN price has to rise? I'd be interested in other folks' thoughts...hold or sell ABDN? | unastubbs
06/8/2021 13:11 | C'mon ABRDN or whatever you want to call yourself. Aviva just made it to 400p, surely you can make 300p today | adelwire2
05/8/2021 07:28 | 19p to 315p ! | chinese investor
04/8/2021 17:05 | Interesting increase today, maybe on the back of LGEN good half yr results ? I’ve held on this lot even if I totally disagree with the name change and they cut divi by 1/3. I can only hope for positive results and divi news next week or may look to split while I’m still in the black | tornado12
20/7/2021 09:20 | I agree fwiw | stpalm

10/7/2021 10:17 | New effin stupid and ridiculous name, probably costing millions while throwing away a very valuable and trusted well recognised brand name. Is that the most productive way the directors can spend their time? | pierre oreilly
10/7/2021 10:04 | New name -- New tactics? This has been a hopeless investment for years. The merger was a disaster. The 'unique' joint M.D's was ill conceived. Tweedle Dum and Dee will not be missed, but what about their successors. What an excitement we have with the so modern epic and name. Gilbert will so enjoy seeing Abdn hosting his beloved golf promotion at the appropriated name RENAISSANCE GLUB. Let,s hope sla/abdn is given the kiss of life sooner rather then later! | rabbrooks
07/7/2021 15:17 | SP looking fairly perky today | cwa1

05/7/2021 07:41 | Nice one ! | chinese investor
05/7/2021 07:26 | Thought I might as well create a new thread for ABRDN, or Standard Life as most of us would probably have preferred it to stay as! | cwa1
05/7/2021 07:25 | Previously known as Standard Life Financial Calendar:- | cwa1 |
