I think the results were good except for the net inflows, everything else seemed OK to me. I think we just need to accept that this is out of favour. If you are in it for income I don't think you can lose - that's my situation. For capital gain in the near term probably not so much. I should think the lack lustre performance so far today is down to the absence of a firm indication of the process to return cash following the sale of the the Phoenix shares in January. Happy to hold and would consider buying more under £2.

I haven't looked through all the results but, looks positive at first glance, didn't see any mention of a special dividend,

Results state "£300 million Phoenix stake to be distributed to shareholders as soon as practicable".
Dividing that amongst the outstanding shares in issue is 13.76p per share, the total 2021 annual dividend is 14.6p.

· Maintain sustainable dividend policy of 14.6p per annum with the intention of growing the dividend in line with our assessment of medium term profit growth, once the dividend is 1.5x covered by adjusted capital generation.

Cant see any mention of the Pheonix sale monies, div the same as last year but no special. Disappointing.

I'm also looking for news on that special dividend, Phoenix Group shares were sold in January 2021. I think we will be updated on the timeline for SD distribution tomorrow. I averaged down today so hoping for a decent set of results in order to get the share price moving upwards, I would also like to see the Directors buying shares again.

"Fund manager Abrdn struggles to offload Rosneft stake"
FTSE 100 fund manager Abrdn has reportedly been unable to offload its £5m stake in Russian state-backed oil firm Rosneft, as Western firms scramble to divest from companies with links to the Russian state.
Abrdn, which has around £535bn assets under management, has been looking to offload its stake since immediately after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Sky News’ Mark Kleinman first reported.

The reports come after BP announced it would sell off its stake in Rosneft yesterday, which had been valued at about £10.4bn but is likely to be shipped on for far less than that valuation, due to difficulties in finding a buyer.
Abrdn yesterday publicly backed BP’s decision to divest from Rosneft.

Andrew Millington, head of UK equities at the Abrdn, said: “We are strongly supportive of the board’s decision and applaud them for taking swift action following the events of the last week.

“While there may be a significant financial cost to BP in exiting Rosneft it is unquestionably the right thing to do”.
