Putin won't invade, but will drag it out for as long as possible, oil $100 nearly, all metals high, gold looks like $2100. Russia are making a fortune.

Just on the price this is a share I should be buying but like Barclays very unloved
I won t go near Aviva for aforementioned reasons as to lack of integrity

Prefer direct line legal and general and Lloyds at the moment added BT on the dip down today so as you were there

This should be higher but while holding its own is not inspiring

Still holding gold sold my oil too early but that's life

Good luck everyone I think we will all need it

Why would he believe he'd get free shares?
I presume he was an II customer/subscriber but as the outfit isn't 'mutual' he's simply a punter not a part-owner.

Way back in the late 60's when my dad was a manager at Standard Life Assurance Company in his Lancashire branch he conducted a costing exercise to determine the true cost of sending a dictated, typed and posted letter. It was considerably more than the (then) cost of postage.

30 years ago I wrote software for two of the pilot mail discounting schemes Royal Mail were trialling. SAGA, amongst others used my software some months later to earn upto 32% discount off the standard First Class letter postage rate.

I would therefore estimate that 1m+ mailings each of 120 sheets (and given 30%+ discounting) would cost significantly more than £2m.

ABRDN up over 4% this month what is causing this to raise could it be the money which I think shareholders will receive from the Phoenix sale will it be a dividend or buybacks any thoughts

Overall, trading for the year was in line with management expectations, with the trajectory in revenue growth seen in the first half of 2021 broadly continuing for the full year. AUMA at 31 December 2021 increased to GBP542 billion, compared with GBP535 billion at 31 December 2020.

Monty's not :-)
It's the requirement to write - ON PAPER - to all 1m shareholders re. the II takeover bid. Vote to be delayed for two weeks - paper shortage.
