28/10/2024 09:46 | I agree. Bought some here for the dividend and capital growth potential. Budget weighing down the market at the moment, but that will change imo. | parob

28/10/2024 08:25 | Doubt it. But the market hates uncertainty. So once Budget is finally announced, the market could bounce back a little. | mister md
28/10/2024 08:20 | The budget. It could be, whatever they do, they might just do it for 12 months to plug the hole. Then change it back..... Touchwood.. In which case market might react positively and ADBN head back up... | netcurtains

28/10/2024 07:23 | Value in recovering Abrdn, says Panmure Liberum Asset manager Abrdn (ABDN) has a long road to recovery but there is more value in the business than the shares suggest, says Panmure Liberum. Analyst Rae Maile retained his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of 240p on the Citywire Elite Companies A-rated investment group, which tumbled 3.1% to 141p at the end of last week after it confirmed investors pulled billions from its funds in the third quarter. ‘There is no doubting the challenge faced by the new chief executive, but there should be a hope that he stands a better chance of rising to that challenge than his predecessor,’ said Maile. In the short term, the company ‘continues to suffer from past mistakes’, especially in its adviser division where ‘Abrdn’s pain has already provided others’ gains’, but longer-term there is opportunity. ‘Estimates slip but the opportunity in the share price remains: there is more value in the business than the current share price discounts, but maybe now there is a management team which can do something about that,’ said Maile. | geckotheglorious
25/10/2024 21:15 | We also have a complete Novice and Liar as Chancellor! | isis
25/10/2024 20:22 | Truss was hijacked. How could a mini budget that never happened cause a global meltdown?? Also She sounded out her budget before she was elected by the Tory Party. Even the BOE has said it was nonsense She caused a meltdown. Her crime was She stupidly announced a budget the day after we had 2 interest rate rises which caused mayhem in the Bond Markets! Sunak then reversed everything She said and hit us with CGT and Tax rises that Labour probably wouldn't have done! Now we get with the Labour one! Out of the Fire into a very big Frying Pan! | isis
25/10/2024 20:05 | Yes, the old think yourself lucky trick, spin the apocalypse deliver the generally semi unpalatable game. We've all seen it in action and it's a trademark of the very worst leaders you can ever deal with. The biggest issue is he is unbelievably clumsy and not overly bright either. He fumbles, bumbles, murmurs and mentally staggers from one gaffe to the next. I was no Blair fan but this guy is an intellectual lightweight by comparison and intelligent people see right through him. I'm no flapper I just don't like our country being in the hands of a grey, uninspiring charlatan that robs pensioners because it's easy prey (no a hard call as he likes to make out). Makes me sick - no moral compass. | pander45
25/10/2024 19:47 | They should have been clearer about what they were going to do before the election and before the budget. It's not a Game Show Surprise! Surprise! fekin Clowns they are, lots of unnecessary damage already needlessly done! I'll bet most Labour Voters are shaking their Heads with this lot but are too embarrassed to say anything because they just voted them in! | isis
25/10/2024 19:26 | We will see soon but if the Labour Leadership have any brains they would be floating all the worst possible tax rises and extra regulations only to have everyone heartily relieved that the worst stuff has not come about. It gets the headless chickens (yes that you) flapping wildly right up to the moment of truth.... | cheshiremoggie
25/10/2024 16:10 | I agree - it’s a Liz Truss type of situation but lasting a hell of a lot longer. Suet | suetballs
25/10/2024 15:59 | The fear that this budget is creating is an absolute social economic disgrace. Absolute amateurs and dire leadership. No hope of a second term for these clowns. | pander45
