24/6/2022 12:20 | ...But at least I'm not a fra_ud and a blatant fantasist hey BoxerMugz but no suprise to see mugs all flocking together so why don't you tell the masses how you tried to deceive investors on the Pires thread with all your fantasising as renowned investor Stephen Jones but we soon discovered that you're not and are just an unfortunate fra_ud from the shanty towns of Birmingham, aren't you? | one_frankel
24/6/2022 12:15 | At the time of the finals at the start of April, the Co. indicated: "The Directors are continuing to explore sources of finance that are available to the Group and have a reasonable expectation that they will be able to secure sufficient cash inflows into the Group to continue its activities for not less than twelve months from the date of approval of these accounts." Assuming that was not a misleading statement at the time, it might be that they have since been unable to secure anything from the various other options and did therefore resort to a very late and unreasonable request to allow them to issue more shares. Essentially it seems they thought they had more options than they actually did have. The mistake her eis that they should have raised at the very latest around the time of the 518 data - market sentiment was better and the positive development with 518 would have enabled them to get something away, perhaps even at 50p or so. They could have used the existing 40% authority. That would have put them on a more secure short term footing to enable them to negotiate one or more of the various other solutions. Instead, the inadequate CFO and Duncan simply carried on assuming a solution other than an equity raise was in the bag - but, it is not. Thus, they are resorting to the only likely option they have, an emergency raise at all time low - they know that given the price of the shares right now, 40% has become insufficient and so they need to increase that authority. But, given the current price, even with increased authority, the amount they will secure will only be a short term solution. Put simply, this has been a classic case of extremely poor financial planning and total lack of capital discipline. | yasx

24/6/2022 11:53 | Nigel, are you aware of how costly short-term bridging finance is to a relatively early stage growth companies and 4D is now unfortunately at the beck and call of others whose intentions I very much doubt are aligned to theirs but bravo to those who were adamant that oxford finance is more than sufficient to its sustainability when 4D have now stated that they require £75M over the next few months... | one_frankel
24/6/2022 11:41 | There's definitely plenty of options and I don't subscribe to the terminal view that they will only be able to raise with a big equity dilution but it's definitely very troubling that they haven't been able to get there already - that explains market reaction | nigelpm
24/6/2022 11:38 | 4D have options to raise the capital as they said they are talking to various banks. Oxford Finance is still not ruled out completely. There was no mention in the pre-agm chat. They are still in partnership with Merck, data and results for Keytruda+4D drug is positive to say the least. Add Bleutix, Asthma etc. Merck Vaccs There is the option to sell the going concern and I am sure Merck and the likes will be interestd. All to play for. We will see what happens after the AGM. Staying put. | andyr42
24/6/2022 11:28 | Thanks stonerRj. Appreciate the opinions and advice. I do agree with you in regards to jumping in. I have years of experience and yet still got caught in the headlights, quite silly. My own fault of course.. I know it’s a completely different animal but I see that LAM are also the victim of bridging loans and the need to keep things going. They have recently had a derisory offer and the share price has tanked even lower. This is their statement and what unfortunately can and does happen and what I wanted to avoid. : “The Board is considering the Possible Offer in light of the Group's liquidity position and the Company's funding requirements of $75 million over the next two months. Blofeld's proposal in respect of the Possible Offer is at a very significant discount to the prevailing share price and any acceptable offer would need to include an interim funding solution or bridge financing. “ gla longtermers I believe that you all deserve rewarding for the commitments and support. | l2e

Let put all this in to context ...Did either of our directors on that disastrous Q and A ... look if they were about to be unemployed and lose millions of personal investment ?? | amaretto1
24/6/2022 11:11 | 80 million was raised in this space two weeks ago ....Just remember this when listening to the bear rhetoric...M518 Could be a multi billion drug ..If anyone didn't realise.. we are partnered by Merk !! Who's CEO spoke at the GS bio pharma jolly jolly earlier this week ...In his speech this area of bio tech was firmly in the spotlight of Merks future ambitions | amaretto1
24/6/2022 10:55 | Indeed. And there are plenty of instances where with or without hindsight averaging down doesn't work or isn't wise. But I know the signals I'd need to see at 4D in order to make that choice. The company has never faced issues funding itself or raising capital. The science is strong and the trial results are compelling. In another time, with a stronger macro environment - particularly for pharma - the company would have, once again, got a decent fundraising underway. Of that I feel pretty sure. Obviously, markets are weak at present and the company is at a pinch point. We can have a conversation around the effectiveness, skill, foresight or tenacity of the BOD in managing funding throughout the slump we're in. But a glance at the index and others working in the same space shows stark correlation. Anyway. Quite a bit needs to happen in the near term and this and how it is managed will point the way I'm sure, for better or for worse. In the bottom drawer they stay and reassess and the year unfolds. | stonerrj
