...But BoxerMugz, why don't you tell the masses how you tried to deceive investors on the Pires thread with all your fantasising as renowned investor Stephen Jones but we soon discovered that you're not and are just an unfortunate fra_ud from the shanty towns of Birmingham, aren't you?

Ones trading perspective is completely aligned to the prevailing market conditions George but even with volatility in a bear market, you need to very careful with how you interpret technical analysis.

Interesting to think about. I could see it happening actually. The old timers talked of how investing used to be holding onto shares long term. Then that shifted to shorter term trading, buying breakouts and selling for 20%. Maybe in a more volatile market the effect would be that people hedged and shorted a lot more. It would be logical. If so, PIs will get taken to the cleaners. Everything would get more volatile you’d have thought, the drops and the rallies.

No George, BlackRock is suggesting a potential strategy for investors to protect their wealth, it doesn't necessary mean every man and his dog will pursue it as such as each will have a differing view buddy.

Yes but the article was suggesting that shorting become a much more normal part of every investors trading. That people hedge longs with a short position. If so, that increases number of shorts way beyond level we’re at now.

Markets looking like they want to put a bottom in and Xbi is massively outperforming. So macro looking good. Too bad 4d shot themselves in the head and aren’t benefitting

In relation to our resident buffoon, you made it quite clear on these boards that you dont use leverage so how one has shorted crude is slightly bemusing...But another moronic statement from a blatant fantasist hey...

And remember this, the day I consider any of your rather redundant thoughts is the day I die as you are nothing but clueless!

George, I have a friend who worked in Dusseldorf for a Norwegian energy company and a predominant part of their monthly salary was subjected towards paying into a company pension so I can completely understand why in the last final crisis of 2008 there was a temporary ban on short-selling in Germany...

And with regards to spreadbetting companies, come on buddy there will 'Always' be an opposing view to yourself it's how markets churn!

Time will tell if you were right to up sticks, salvage what you can, and take the loss now, L2E.

But given your rushed entry at 60p without adequate research........often the classic subsequent error is to then to make a second bad call and sell after a big drop when you're feeling at your most gloomy.

Obviously depends if the company can weather the present storm and sector woes.

Progress is slow but the trial data to date is superb and there is value within the business imho.

Mine are in the bottom drawer and wont be sold now, for better or for worse. My only activity around 4D will be in regards to adding, should any light at the end of the tunnel appears. That's an unknown at present granted.

Good luck in your reinvestment elswhere.

Got sucked in with the great science and trial 0518 data at 60p.arrgh did not realise that fundamental running of the business model was so flawed here, which should be bread and butter management at any business, foundations and security etc. The recent presentation was enough for me to up sticks and exit out to me immediately with a huge loss, but serves me right for just assuming that all was well with management dept. Added my much smaller pot back to EOG, a more favourable investment than just hoping here currently. What a calamity DDDD has been and not all is clear. Hope it goes right for the gamblers left but I have seen these scenarios all too often over the decades. rose coloured views, hope and great science is not what’s needed here, it’s funding and clarity realism!

As for your call on oil frank .... I'm completely opposite opinion...It will be used less .... green agenda bla bla ....Biden The last chance for the clever money to get out now .. after been trapped in for over a decade ... stocks are showing this now .... it's not good to hold oil stocks imo ... All the arguments are wrong, forcing people for alternatives !
