18/9/2024 17:41 | Have to agree with hpcg EVs with longer range means heavier and/or more dangerous batteries that you have to drag around. I don't think Tesla's current offerings have much of a future | hosede
18/9/2024 07:03 | EV's need increased range Would 20% help by the use of Wheel Hub Motors ? | buywell3
16/9/2024 07:04 | I'm surprised at the relative direction of travel of Plug hybrid versus just hybrid. PHEV is surely the best of both worlds at this time. | hpcg
15/9/2024 18:28 | To some extent the early adopters have adopted - that said, there’s growth here for EVs as diesel becomes irrelevant and petrol heads towards a mere plurality. There’s obviously the ongoing cost, range, charging issues but volume & time solves those issues - just like with all other technology hardware. | blusteradjuster
15/9/2024 12:38 | Difficult to know exactly what this implies for EVs , Germany and the car industry in general | hosede
10/9/2024 08:26 | Elon is looking very likely to bring out a Tesla smartphone before the end of this year Seems likely that this will operate worldwide via Starlink which in essence will mean that anyone using such a phone can travel to any part of the world and get connected without any issues IMO this is why Buffet has sold his Apples Also IMO Starlink due to its very low latency ( uses LEO satellites) will form the backbone for autonomous vehicle connectivity which is needed for safety dyor | buywell3
02/9/2024 10:39 | it's not just Tesla FSD that can fail | hosede
31/8/2024 17:22 | I thought the order book was maxed out -but WDIK | hosede
31/8/2024 12:04 | Car owners are being injured with just normal interactions about their own car. More people will be injured and killed when that wouldn't happen with a moral vehicle, even with the driver making the same decisions. In the US, about the only place it is legal to drive it, that means lawsuits. The only upside seems to be they are so rarely mobile. That and so few will be sold. | hpcg
31/8/2024 10:23 | hpcg Sorry - you've lost me there. why should the cybertruck involve death lawsuits? | hosede
30/8/2024 19:02 | It doesn't survive the first death law suit. Either insurance will be too high or if self insured, which is allowed in states like Texas, the owner will be bankrupted. That alone will put people off. | hpcg
30/8/2024 18:52 | Dominic I guess it provides a talking point - and Musk feels that's good publicity | hosede
30/8/2024 14:37 | #10999 an abberation of US buyers. Body shape possibly designed by Homer Simpson. | dominiccummings
29/8/2024 21:17 | CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THE CYBERTRUCK | hosede
22/8/2024 13:58 | More competition | hosede
20/8/2024 20:45 | A safe claim to make since Tesla almost certainly will ship from Germany! | dominiccummings
20/8/2024 20:00 | EU to hit Teslas imported from China with 19% tariffs Brussels plans additional levy for electric vehicles made at the US carmaker’s Chinese factories | johnwise
03/8/2024 06:52 | FT Unhedged - 2/8/24 The case for Tesla Tesla’s earnings slightly disappointed last week, but its stock is still valued at nearly 100 times earnings. Does this make sense? And what exactly is Tesla anyway? Today on the show, Rob Armstrong and reporter Aiden Reiter take apart Tesla and try to sort out an eclectic basket of electric cars, self-driving taxis, humanoid robots and other grand plans for the future. Also we go long the yen and long bitcoin, for complex reasons. | simon gordon
02/8/2024 22:40 | hpcg .....bonds govt debt. But what happens when govt. debt ceases to be the safe asset it has always been assumed to be? | hosede
02/8/2024 18:43 | What Is Sector Rotation? How It Works and Importance in Investing | jaknife
02/8/2024 18:25 | Never heard of rotation? It has been going on as long as there has been economic data to analyse. When economic conditions deteriorate one moves out of economically but growing assets into conservative assets along the chain. So consumer discretionary -> consumer staples, high yield -> investment grade, shares -> bonds, bonds -> government debt. | hpcg
02/8/2024 18:13 | In the media I am seeing a lot of hype from analysts about the "rotation" - something they seem to have invented but seems to be catching. It is where the big money is moving out of the magnificent 7, which now make up 50% of the S&P, and into dividend paying stocks. I suppose if they all move in step then it's going to happen. Shame that so many dimwits have access to so much money to control the markets. | cfb2
02/8/2024 18:03 | Steady linear sell-off today - not surprising for a shaere price based mainly on hype!. Where will it end? well there is significant support in he 179 - 187 area (only my guess) | hosede |
