What is Dollar-weighted Rate Of Return?

Also called Internal Rate of Return (IRT). It is a method to rank the competing investment projects. IRT takes into consideration the investments performance, timing, and size of the investment. Based on the iRT, the initial market value of the investment project has to be equal to the present value of all future inflows in the evaluation period and the final market value of the investment.
