Doug Schaedler Appointed President of UTEK Corporation 
 
 
Tampa, FL -- (Business Wire) - February 17, 2009 -- UTEK Corporation (NYSE 
Alternext US & LSE-AIM: UTK), a leading innovation services company, announces 
the appointment of Doug Schaedler as President of the Company. 
 
 
Mr. Schaedler was appointed as the Company's Vice President on March 15, 2004 
and on July 9, 2004 was appointed as the Company's Chief Operating Officer and 
Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining UTEK, Mr. Schaedler served as a 
Principal at Praxis Capital Ventures, LP, a private equity firm providing growth 
capital to emerging companies. Previously, he was the Director of Corporate and 
Strategic Development at Verticalnet, Inc., a provider of supply management 
solutions to companies, and is a founder of BuyersUnite, an innovative 
purchasing aggregation firm. Mr. Schaedler received a B.A. from Tufts University 
and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business. He is 
a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
