I read in a magazine this morning that Theo fennell have created an Odyssey 2 ball golf putter in 18-carat white gold with Odyssey swirls of rubies and diamonds, yet is is balnced and feels like the original so is actually usable if anybody dared to whip it out on the course. It's a one-off piece and is for sale exclusively at Harrods for a paltry 100k.

2magpies/shorty - The view from the company is a little different to that. As far as they are concerned sales were going strong until the snow hit and you can't deny that they do have a case with regards to international christmas shoppers as there were a lot of airport closures.
'The Company had an encouraging start to the Christmas period with like-for-like retail sales up 22% in the first week of December. The adverse weather conditions significantly reduced footfall to the stores from high end UK clients and International clients, many of whom were unable to arrive in London for the Christmas period. Like-for-like sales for the month of December were therefore down 7%.

Sales of the Bees, Spangle and Keys collections were encouraging however sales of the higher end one off pieces were lower than anticipated due to the shortfall of International clients in London during the Christmas period.'
I didn't realise that there was a shares mag tip!

2magpies - I saw the bit in the Telegraph the other week and guessed as much but like I mentioned before all the right signs are there and in place
I agree with you though, rich people have drivers and multiple 4*4's and wouldn't let a little bit of the white stuff stopping them buying their loved one a gift
Footfall may well have been down but footfall of real buyers, I doubt it.

good decision not buying in yesterday I was tempted, before the oncoming ramp up. We've all seen the price of this share before.

some of the gain was due to shares mag tip (which I failed to act upon).

Bit of a surprise that rich people are put off by cold weather!

Whatever happend to fur coats?? ;--)

Was sooo tempted to buy in yesterday, as the share price ket nudging up with practically every little (and I mean little) trade.

not for long....I'm guessing the statement has been put out to calm any fears over market irregularity, near on 100% gain over a four week period must trigger some alerts somewhere. If we look at last year's Christmas statement
it talks about all the positive aspects of the previous year and in this latest one we see none of that, almost airing on the side of pessimism.
"When you're walking in the right direction just keep on walking" (not part of the TFL statement)
This release will calm things down and does provide opportunities but we know the chart direction - Holding for £1 in March

John Lewis and Carphone Warehouse and Majestic bucked the trend but yeah it's a common story - see Next/HMV.

I'm gonna have to dump for now though cos of the negative forecast in the last paragraph and watch like a hawk for the rest of 2011. Good luck all.

These have been marked down in anticipation of selling by holders hoping for a more positive xmas trading statement. According to advfn there have only been 5 trades today and there has been more buying than selling :-o
All retailers have been hit by the weather

THEO FENNELL PLC

("Theo Fennell" or "the Company")

Christmas Trading Statement

The Company had an encouraging start to the Christmas period with like-for-like retail sales up 22% in the first week of December. The adverse weather conditions significantly reduced footfall to the stores from high end UK clients and International clients, many of whom were unable to arrive in London for the Christmas period. Like-for-like sales for the month of December were therefore down 7%.

Sales of the Bees, Spangle and Keys collections were encouraging however sales of the higher end one off pieces were lower than anticipated due to the shortfall of International clients in London during the Christmas period.

Alias, the new silver jewellery line, was soft launched in November. We are very encouraged by the early sales. The product range will be expanded in early Spring 2011 and the distribution will be extended both in the UK and overseas. In the first six weeks since its launch we have sold over 2,000 units.

The website was also soft launched in November and early sales show the future opportunity of this new business channel, particularly for the sales of the Alias silver jewellery line.

The effect of the poor weather conditions on retail sales in December will invariably have a knock on effect on the full year results at the end of March and we anticipate these will be below market expectations.

There is definitely a renewed interest in this stock now. It does remind me of the last time they ran up to the 160p area, good luck all.

theoriginalwonderstuff - As for share price in the next 2 months? I think it depends entirely on supply and demand for the shares, if their new range has gone down well and they generate publicity, then we could double from here. As for the long term, I think there is a possibility that the new range could completely transform the company and their jewellery could become more mainstream, but will still obviously be best known for their exclusive mega priced one off pieces which will keep their status and desirability high. If they can become like a designer label which the fashion conscious man or woman on the street would be proud to wear and show off to their friends, then who knows? At the moment I don't want them to be bought out because I think they have a long way to go yet.

All buys this morning so far, we must be due another tick up soon...

Dear all

I am not sure waht to make of this share. I originally bought in several years ago and then parted company with my stock, having made a small profit. On the back of speculation from The Telegraph in 2007, I bought back in to this fully expecting a takeover. This did not materialise and I'm left holding stock with a break even of £1.485!

I had thoight about buying in when the stock was at an all time low and even when it was hovering around 40p. However, the rather nippy rise of the last 2 weeks has caught me unawares and I wonder where people see the share price in the next 2 months, post Christmas update???

And to keep it interesting - what kind of buyout price would people be prepared to take in the event of an offer from either management or an external bidder???

Good luck all.

2breakout - Good spot, interesting read although it doesn't give anything away, but it's comforting to see this bit referring to the new Alias range - 'It seems to be going really well. It is appealing to people I never thought would shop with us,' he says.
Good luck all

However, I'm enjoying this renewed interest in TFL. Was breakeven last week after a long time, actually I'm in profit now. ;-)

Looking at advfn trades today, there were just over 45000 shares bought and none sold, the price rose by 3p. In the past the price has risen and dropped by 1p on the back of one trade of 2000 shares, so I don't understand why the price didn't move by more like 20p!!
