Just as a matter of interest, would any of our larger holders care to mention if they are the ones adding these 100k blocks, or is it somebody away from this board?

Think our buyers limit is at, or around the 3.5p mark. MM's are happy to take sells at 3.4p at the moment, which suggests to me that they are still after more! We may be stuck in this range for a little while, unless we get some positive news, or someone else wants to join the party. I am a little surprised that there hasn't been a bit more selling at this level, and I also note that the seller who was dropping the 100k blocks into the market has also been quiet these last few days.

Anybody know the dates of this years Chinese New Year?

Morning all. Nice to see us blue again this morning. Thought l would share with you the thoughts of an old acquaintance of mine that l felt compelled to contact again last night regarding all things Taihua. Years ago, he held an almost notifiable amount of TAIH shares, but had sold down his holding due to a few concerns he had regarding one thing and another. I knew he still held a number, but l was surprised to hear he had taken part in the recent fundraising, and that he had been adding quite a few following that, and had been buying till just before Christmas.

I have felt for some time that that there were changes occuring at Taihua. Recent comings and goings and 'major' players coming aboard from out of leftfield etc! The shareprice more or less played this all down and made things seem it was business as usual. The fundraising and buyback thing came as a bit of a surprise to me, and once again piqued my interest in Taihua, and raised hope that maybe things were going to happen!

Still waiting for that to unravel though arent we, and like in the past, we are all left in the dark wondering what is going on once again. Frustrating, and in such times the confidence and trust in the Company and Board is a little more eroded.

Strange then, that there are others who have been adding, and are keen to continue to do so. Not just the odd thousand here and there, but hundreds of thousands! We currently have a buyer who is wanting to buy Taihua, no secret, we have all seen the 100k buys hoovering up any sells over the last few days/weeks.

One or two of the larger holders on here have posted their thoughts regarding the buyback situation. There is no doubt that some of the feedback has been derived from communications with the Company directly, and though I am not suggesting that any one of us would not get the same feedback should we contact the Company, I fully understand, and appreciate, that somebody who holds a number of millions of shares will no doubt know more about what is going on than I probably ever will!

I am of the opinion that the buying has nothing to do with the buyback situation. I also understand a little more about why the Company have been a little reticent over releasing 'news' relating to the buyback, in particular alluding to lyonst's earlier posting regarding reasons as to why the buyback may not be in their interests just at the moment.

I'm not going to sell a kidney to load up here, but I do feel a little more comfortable after my discussion last evening and am looking forward to seeing how this all plays out ;o))

its hard to know. I've traded 1.2m shares in the past 3 months (if you count 800,000 sells and 400,000 buys) Not really a trading stock, but opportunities do sometimes present, to buy when price falls on a small trade, or sell when someone will clearly just buy at the market price.

14 million shares traded since September 1st.

It sounds a lot but is less than £400,000 worth.

Not enough to trigger notification presumably.

One more interesting point where the hell is all this stock coming from.millions of shares have been sold over a period of months with no rns.Do we have a board member selling out and they cant be bothered to tell us?.

All well and good davydoo, but just because their little ruse to buy back shares cheaply has proved awkward, does not give them the right to withdraw the option that the funds were raised for in the first place! Burying their heads in the sand and hoping that it will go away is hardly the correct, or professional, way forward either. This is once again becoming a total shambles, and it is going to be us PI's that get the short straw. Unbelievable course of events.

Limits were quite interesting before that last exchange of 100k shares! Seems like 3.5p is their limit for now. Anybody care to update us on limits and size at the moment?

If the buyback is not happening this must break rules!.I wait for next rns then I will contact fsa.they have lied in order raise funds for themselves and for a board member to increase his holding nice and cheap.

If that is the case, then maybe it is time that we take matters to hand, collectively, and start putting pressure on our Board to tow the line! There are one or two on here who have substantial holdings, and JT Cod was always proactive when it came to Taihua. If everybody feels the same way about the current situation, maybe there could be a way of delegating a spokesperson to deal with the Board knowing they have the backing of the cumulative holders and their shares, who feel the same way?

oxtail, yes i have spoken to the company and lets say they seem to have got themselves into a corner with the whole backback issue and maybe now by saying nothing and keep saying it is maybe their solution for now. The general lack of interest/drive from shareholders prepared to hold the company and directors to account allows for a certain amount leeway with the companies actions or lack of actions.

Take it you have spoken to the company lyonst5.The buyback was for shareholders not for not the company as stated in rns.Is this another promise broken like the dividend?.

Lyonst5....I hear what you are saying regarding the buyback of the shares, but for the Company to raise funds from its shareholders on the understanding that such a buyback would take place, and then dismiss the buyback because of the reasons you outline, would in my view, destroy any remaining confidence some shareholders have in our Board. There may be some holders who took part in the fundraising only because of the expected buyback!

It is surely time enough now for the Company to let us know exactly what is going on regarding this situation, one way or the other. They cannot afford to just sweep this under the carpet and hope it goes away like they did with the farce of the dividend payment those many years ago.

Yes wishing a Happy New year to all here. I do get the feeling that more holders though are now Chinese with the continual buying of shares when they become available. On the subject of the buyback, the company stated that the reason for it was that it would be a more efficient means of returning funds to the shareholders than paying a dividend with its associated withholding taxes.
It seems the company was wrong footed in thinking it could get a large % of the company repurchased for peanuts. So the current impasse of holding back/cancelling the buyback is in the companies interests but maybe not that of the shareholders interests.
I see the issuing of shares and the pending backback situation is to keep a strong hand for the board in voting shares if there are tenuous links of a Chinese concert party and then some possible corporate action in the future.

Although I havent added any, that is the reason I am reluctant to sell any of my holding oxtail2015. Like you, I feel there must be something more to all that has gone, and is currently going on here at Taihua. I am sure we will hear something shortly re the buyback. I would like to see Nicholas Lyth averaging down a bit at this level also. I think that would provide a massive vote of confidence amongst holders, and raise the profile of TAIH to attract more new investors. Looking forward to 2017 here with a little more anticipation and expectation rather than the usual trepidation!!
