To keep us all up to date, on the eve of the Results, Rachel Brand left the DoJ on Tuesday. Tomorrow's RNS awaited with much interest on the matter of the fine.

While I wait for the money to roll in I've been reading the correspondence from "The Action Group".

Here's one example :-

20 June 2014
Firmly On Course
".....we have worked really hard to set out and submit all of the group's 30,000 plus claims....."

Unluckily Signature only have 6,000 verified retail claimants !

So most of the "30,000 plus claimants" were bogus !

Interesting to see bank stocks perform as interest rates slowly rise. Only a matter of time until the next rate hike.

Those are quick will see that the FTSE100 has grown, at a compound rate, no more than inflation during the last 5 years.

The last 5 years -- the German DAX, the US S&P500 and the FTSE100 compared.

The Telegraph reports:

GDP growth for the final quarter of 2017 revised down by the ONS; downgrade puts growth at weakest since 2012

Growth in the final quarter of 2017 revised from 0.5pc to 0.4pc; annual growth last year revised down to 1.7pc.

An annual rate of 1.7% is half the rate of inflation!

Ramco this why unfettered free market capitalism does not work in Britain. It never has.

Why is that?

Because in the USA those caught cheating get 20 years to life, in Britain they do not even get investigated.

The much awaited fine of RBS is not for screwing Britain, but the USA.

Maxk, Oh for the days when this board was ahead of the curve on weighty subjects of import...however there are several very funny parts in your weighty found article..but since it includes one of the many things that shareholderera should be thinking about that I alluded to in reply to Raffles I shall wade in..

Article refers to how the student debt will affect value of pound..lols pulease!!! can someone ask the BOE about their stewardship of the value of that in the last 50 yrs and watch them attempt to double speak out the side of their mouths in an attempt to squirm their way out of an answer..or put up a 20year chart against Euro (something Leeds points to every now and again which goes unanswered every time...lol;) think we are at an 11.5% loss in value per annum...

It may interest you to know that the trillion+ mark has recently just hit in the states not only on student debt but on car loans and credit card debt too..that's a trillion + each!!

The interesting bit is that charge offs are already climbing graph showing a modest upward slant for now ...however that is only for the largest banks...the smaller banks are at a 7.9% charge off rate which is the same rate at 08/09...

with wages being stagnant for so long and savings rates pummeled would you say that credit cards are maxed out much? forgive the pun...;)

The indices and LLOY are off to the races now.

The neat thing about LLOY's rise is that it is underpinned by very high volumes of trades.

Agreed Barmiddleton.
I suspect they won't hand over the information either.
I have always been concerned that the AG was set up as a limited company.
Given any issues and they will simply close it.
The concerns around the Evaluesafety co should be ringing alarm bells everywhere .
It seems obvious why it was set up and must raise questions around conflict of interest etc .
I would welcome a criminal investigation personally
