15/3/2017 08:55 | It is Cheltenham Festival week. One of my siblings lives less than one mile from the track. Beautiful part of England. Time has stood still at Cheltenham railway station. It has the same charm as when I first travelled there on a steam train in the 1960's. | leedskier
15/3/2017 08:50 | maxk I didn't miss it! I read every single post here and always have done ;) | leedskier

15/3/2017 08:38 | I have noticed this sad trend quite a lot on social media these days. No-one bothers to read the contributions of others. All that matters is that they put in their half-penny's worth. | leedskier
15/3/2017 08:35 | aha maxk you do not read even the posts today before you dive in! leedskier15 Mar '17 - 06:00 - 146917 of 146923 0 0 Edit Good news for the United Kingdom, which may raise the £, an opinion poll released overnight shows that two-thirds of Scots are now Eurosceptic. | leedskier
15/3/2017 08:29 | A post from George across the road: Best way to secure Scottish Independence is to give the English a vote. Besides the Euroblock (heads) have enough lame ducks without taking on another one. | maxk
15/3/2017 07:48 | Time to call their bluff? | maxk
15/3/2017 07:22 | Could they not just have asked "who wants out?" Word the question in an ambiguous way and you'll get ambiguous answers. "A major survey released on Wednesday also shows that two thirds of Scots either want Britain to leave the EU or for the bloc to have reduced powers." | blusteradjuster
15/3/2017 07:21 | MS has got Lloyds below 3% at long last. Quite a milestone along the road to getting the government out. | polar fox

14/3/2017 12:33 | pity they never voted to leave the UK in 2006 then they could have taken RBS and HBOS with them... | mr roper
14/3/2017 12:03 | Is the prospect of resumed dividends next year at all realistic? Forgive me if that is a lazy question, but I throw myself on your mercy as someone with an 85% loss here! | grahamite2
14/3/2017 11:58 | Christ not the threat to no Union Jack again!!!! too much military history for that..... if the scots push this they will end up bankrupt! EU is going to implode or change.......what a total mess it all is | cfc1
14/3/2017 11:48 | The simple point is that if those, in the majority, in the UK who voted for the UK to leave the EU are entitled to have their democratic decision implemented, there can be no complaint if the majority of voters in Scotland choose to leave the UK. Just as in the case of the vote last summer, why the Scots may choose to leave the UK is irrelevant. There may have been some basis for Cameron to legitimately canvass Scottish votes in 2014, there can be no basis upon which Theresa May can, for the simple reason that Cameron promised the Scots that as part of the UK, Scotland would remain part of the EU. He then promised the electorate that if they voted in the Conservatives, the electorate would be given the opportunity to override that promise. In the 2015 GE just one Conservative MP was elected in Scotland. The Government may make laws affecting Scotland, but it has no mandate from the Scottish voters to do so, other than the 2014 referendum vote. | leedskier
14/3/2017 09:31 | Thanks for the update pf. Tosco seem to have their knickers in a twist over the banking thing. As if no one could see the potential rush. | maxk

14/3/2017 07:46 | maxk, Don't know if you're keeping an eye on Tesco Bank still, but yesterday an online question from a member of the public did (unusually) receive a one line official reply: In the coming weeks we will let customers know when they can apply for a current account. As I said last month, they are really on the skewer with this one! - even employees are not being allowed to open a new account. | polar fox |
