The explosive recruitment drive gave an inkling that something big was afoot - the positions being recruited to being in US (HQ), Mexico and UK/Norway. My second guess for the other NOC/ SM is either BP or Statoil - given the Barents sea work.

At the SEG 2013, where RSI are presenting later this month, one of the presentations is in Chinese - why would they do that unless there was a very good reason ? More contracts on the way.....IMHO.

May be our luck is changing and we will make some money after all :) Good luck !

Fantastic news ! Clearly an indicator of substantial and recurrent revenues

"RSI signs a framework agreement with PPI" on the home page of the website.

Pemex, which according to Wikipedia is...

"Petróleos Mexicanos (trademarked and better known as Pemex) (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpemeks], Mexican Petroleum) is the Mexican state-owned petroleum company, created in 1938 by nationalized petroleum and expunging all private foreign and domestic companies at that time. Pemex has a total asset worth of $415.75 billion, and is the world's second largest non-publicly listed company by total market value,[2] and Latin America's second largest enterprise by annual revenue as of 2009, surpassed only by Petrobras (the Brazilian National Oil Company).[3] The majority of its shares are not listed publicly and are under control of the Mexican government, with the value of its publicly listed shares totaling $102 billion in 2010, representing approximately one quarter of the company's total net worth"

Presentations at the SEG, Houston due later this month...please check company website for details. Sounds positive and comforting to know that we are still in business - presenting at exhibitions and also recruiting staff.

Whether we ever make profits which translate to dividends remains to be seen ;)

I dont think they want anything to do now with minority shareholders only the big guns East Hill and the other 2 are of the only concern to Auckland as they are financing this company.I think the shares are still exchanging hands for a poxy 0.5p and the only hope for ex AIM shareholders to get anything back is if they do start making big bucks like THAL one of the major shareholders will buy the minority shareholders out for a pittance, thats our only hope otherwise forget it .

Hi Ewads ! I have emailed Bob Auckland yesterday and let us see if I get a reply.

It could well be a brush off, but just may be he will say that the results will do the talking ;)

THAL and GTC are flying, I am sure that we will do well even with crumbs off the seismic imaging sector table...a rising tide that lifts all boats.Britadaq was stating that there was a buyer, but I am not a gold member, so could not see the quotes - can anyone help ?

Nothing more to lose than what I invested :)Good luck anyway !

Flurry of recruitment activity advertised on company website .... 13 technical posts in Houston, Mexico, UK and Norway. Clearly there must be life in this...could be that we have landed the 2 NOCs contracts...

Some recruitment appears to have occurred or the jobs have been pulled. Let us hope the newly recruited are earning their keep.....RSI had advertised 11 jobs at one point and now down to 6.

RSI presenting at conference....from the company website

RSI @ EAGE 2013

RSI is an independent geoscience consulting firm, offering quantitative reservoir characterization services grounded in rock physics to reduce risk and optimize drilling plans. As an industry leader in the integration and interpretation of geophysical and well data from log analysis to inversion to volumetrics, we deliver robust predictions of reservoir geometries and properties to our customers, providing them with the information they need to make sound business decisions.

We welcome you to stop by our booth, #716 , to learn about advances we have made in statistical Rock Physics, the Electrical Resistivity Anisotropy Barents Sea consortium, and our coming Rock Solid Attributes™ plug-in for Petrel®, or to discuss a specific technical challenge you might be facing. We will also deliver presentations at the times listed below.
2013 EAGE Presentation Schedule
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
10:00 Rock Solid Attributes for Petrel®
11:00 Advancing Statistical Rock Physics Capabilities for Lithofacies Prediction
13:00 A Blind Test of CSEM Workflows Using the SEAM Model
RSI's Technology

Our approach to technology development and application is grounded by what our customers need: sound information. By properly integrating all available data, and leveraging different data types to get the most out of others, we produce robust geophysical and geological results. The diagram below illustrates how we use geophysical and petrophysical data to drive our analysis, which uses a foundation in rock physics.
Global Experience

RSI provides quantitative seismic reservoir characterization services to a global client base using proprietary technologies as well as best-in-class third-party commercial software. Our goal is to optimize drilling strategies, well placement and completions designs, and reduce uncertainty and risk.

Since 1998, RSI has conducted a wide array of reservoir characterization projects providing our clients with the data and information they need to make sound business decisions.

250+ clients

35+ countries

3,200+ wells analyzed

Hi RBonnier !

I guess many are looking for an exit (including me) at a break even or better share price. Re buyout, your guess is as good as mine as we PIs are such a small minority that we cannot influence in any meaningful way and hence may not figure in their calculations.

The report is a good 70 pages...so I may give it a full read when I have nothing better to do (which is not often the case !) and post if there is anything of significance or possible interest to PIs.

I take some comfort from " a cash generative business" by end of 2013, but as always shall believe it when it happens :) Good Luck !

Many Thanks Multibagger do you think there is a possibility the major shareholders might buy the minority shareholders out before this starts making money next year at say a token 2p per share ?

Hi RBonnier !

THAL and GTC have seen significant upward movement in share price over the last year or so...though my darlings in the sector( RSI and VIY) are clearly dredging the bottom. The sector is seeing so much new exploration related activity that it appears that companies are able to get contracts quite easily. I am hopeful that by default some work will turn up. You too must have got an email about a buyer on britdaq, but I have not bothered signing up to gold membership as yet - any idea what is being asked/bid ? Good luck :)

Hi RBonnier !

A bit of rumour and may be oxygen to some long term suffering holders ! ....RSI is thought to be negotiating with 2 National Oil Companies and is increasingly optimistic that at least one / if not both will come to fruition - I heard the word "transformational"....but haven't we all heard it before in the context of other companies. It is unlikely that any announcement will be made until at least one deal is signed off. It appears that they are still burning more cash than they have income and the new CE (apparently has a good track record) has been tasked with increasing revenues in the short term as a priority. Results to year end Dec 2012 is likely to be announced in mid April 2013 and info may be posted on the investor's section of the website. Good luck :)

I was expecting results around this time, but have been reading the previous news releases on the RSI website and at some point the financial year has been moved around to tie in with the rest of the oil and gas industry, it appears.

I dropped an email about a week ago to Bob Auckland asking as to how the results would be communicated to share holders given RSI is not listed...but no reply so far. I guess he can't be bothered. When I spoke to him prior to the placing he sounded listless and not really enthused - wonder if I caught him on a bad day or whether it was symptomatic of the management team. Not expecting anything to come off this investment...but would love to be surprised :)

Pity the THAL offer didnt go through we would have at least recouped our losses .If it wasnt for the major shareholders having large sums of monry invested here I would say this was dead in the water ,however I doubt they will allow this to go under.Cant see us ever getting anything back or hearing anything much ever again the perils of investing on AIM im afraid clearly demonstrated here along with many more I could name .
