no you never, you stated there's 'credible' evidence that my allegation is not true and asked me to withdraw it, which I refused to do so... the so called 'credible' evidence (provided by advfn) in respect of my allegation isn't so credible, is it..

The voting system on advfn is BS... anyone who buy/sells or believes a post based on the number of votes needs to have their head examined....

You effectively repeated it very recently in the post below.

You now have some credible evidence that it is not true - reported advfn helpdesk response.

But you're not withdrawing the allegation.

STT - so just to be clear, are you now withdrawing the allegation you have made in the past that when a poster uses multiple ids to vote for a post these votes are not counted for the "top posts" ranking?

This is the problem with making unsubstantiated accusations. When one of them turns out to be false it undermines the credibility of your other posts.

Jarvis - good point, we are trading as a loss making potential company, when we are in fact a profit making success story in a lucrative sector.

Having said that - Tosca understand aim punters are easily persuaded to select SCAMPI!

Some of the post on these threads by traders are embarrassing.

LCWA - but we all know how you tried to make money don't we? How did that work out? The reason I contacted the helpdesk about the top posts list was that I hoped a definitive explanation might put an end to stt and others using failure to make the list as evidence that multi-ids were at work.

stt - by "cleared up" I meant that I have been given a specific reason why the recent barkboo post (and several ancient borneobob posts) didn't get in to the "top posts" list and I have also been told that in the advfn helpdesk's view (although not checked with their technical team) it is unlikely that posts are excluded because they come from multi-ids.

Now you have a golden opportunity here to follow up with the advfn helpdesk on this latest example and find out why it happened. Why wouldn't you do that if you genuinely believed that it might vindicate you?

They don't refuse to take your calls do they?

By the way, how do you know that the post in question didn't contain "offensive" words to the algorithm which screens them - maybe it didn't like "advfn", "gang" or "bottom" for all I know.

Alex, in what way are these threads good for private investors? They are full of grown men, pretending to be rich, abroad or expert tipsters and accusing each other of logging onto a web site more than once in order tick up an irrelevant post. And to top it off posters here contact the website to check why posts have/haven't appeared on the advfn leaderboard!How any of you make money I don't know!

For what it's worth, I had a problem accessing on my normal ID last year and set up a new one, which I never use and subsequently have forgotten. So I know it is possible to have several ID's ... as do people on here.But if anyone is interested on balanced debate on R1 you will find it on LSE and III, surprisingly you will find genuine holders who do have sceptical views on the management and the industry. It's neither rampfest nor doom and gloom, as they only allow one thread.These threads are good for a pi?s take, but other than that they might as well be about the merits of The Flat Earth society, or a debate on whether the moon landing actually happened.We can thank the likes of Barky and Geh2 for that. Let's hope they never spoil other sites with their dimmwittery.

stt - advfn's first thought when I asked them about the precinct & barkboo posts was that it was a glitch in the system. It was only when they checked the specific posts that they came back with the "language" explanation. So I presume that the system does suffer from glitches and this may sometimes exclude posts. I did ask them specifically about multi-ids and they said they thought that was unlikely.

So I'm not arguing that the only reason posts don't appear in the "top posts" list is that they contain "bad" language. I'm arguing that there is evidence to suggest posts are not excluded because they have been voted for by multi-ids.

And since you're not withdrawing your assertion that posts are excluded because they come from multi-ids, I'm asking if you have any evidence to support that assertion, given there is now some evidence which suggests your assertion is false.

And it's really easy if you want to follow it up, because you've got the 2 posts you've just listed and so can ask advfn about this specific case.
